Should the UK apply to join BRICS?

Yes it is a one-party state. That party is the People's Party. The people are the party. What you mean is it is not an elected parliament comprising of different parties like we do. Why should it copy our system though? Geographically we are nowhere near China and have little historial connection. The land of China is just weird in every respect. It's a bit of an Alice in Wonderland experience cos nothing is as you would expect. For example, the level of laws and restrictions vary geographically. You can elect what kind of place you prefer by moving to it. The point is variety is a good thing. You seem like you want some monoculture. The most important thing to know though is if you are decent and polite toward the Chinese as a Brit you will be treated well. They don't hate us like some nationalities do.
