Similarly, anyone who has travelled to the UK from the Ukraine will have passed through safe countries (particularly Poland). They're still refugees. The Ukrainians entered legally on a Visa you clown.. They entered by consent of the UK. As do those who enter from France, you clown! When the UK signed the Refugee Convention, the UK agreed to that.

How can you be even more stupid day in day out?. The Ukrainians were not allowed to set foot in the Country without a valid Visa. If you are now suggesting that we treat the Asylum seekers from France in the same way then I would be up for that - they stay in France until their claim has been assessed and if approved given a Visa to enter the UK. Of course I know that is not what you are suggesting as you are too stupid to understand what is going on in the world.

They could have gone to France and travelled to the UK by dinghy. That would be a crime under UK law. But a treaty that the UK voluntarily entered into requires that the UK confer a pardon on certain categories of criminals. The Ukrainians would have been criminals for entering the UK in an unorthodox manner, but they would belong to a special cateogry of criminal that possesses the right to a pardon under international law... Duh!

Now who is the clown as none of the Ukrains came in small boats illegally. Who said they did? And, if you've been reading this thread, you'll know that international law explicitly recognises that those entering the UK by dinghy are acting illegally. BUT, it confers a duty on those who have voluntarily entered the Refugee Convention to bestow a pardon on those criminals. The UK is a voluntary signatory of the Refugee Convention. The new laws which punish refugees for entering the UK by dinghy contradict the duty to confer a pardon. They are therefore a breach of international law, and will be held to be so when they appear before the courts.

Ok . That excludes the dingy paddling migrants then. Neither their lives or freedom are at risk. Glad we cleared that up .

If they take up residency in France, they will lose the protections of the Refugee Convention. That means they won't be entitled to a pardon if they illegally enter the UK.

Its said that some destroy or ‘lose’ their passports. If they don’t have passports then they have no proof of where they previously resided.

International law does not require the UK to confer a pardon on the criminal traffickers; only those who employ their services to illegally enter the UK (subject to additional criteria).
