Surely not... Where as Northampton Tory council went under through no fault of their own. And Conservative-led Croydon council declared bankruptcy three times in two years, through no fault of their own. Then there's Thurrock, Woking, slough. You need to get a handle fitted to your neck. Woking is Lib-Dumb, Slough is Labour lol. The vast majority of local authorities who have gone bust or are in danger of going bust are mismanaged by Labour. |

Yep. and where Tories are going bust, it's through trying to emulate Labour.
Slim down public services, there's no need for the amount of middle management that there is.

The vast majority of local authorities who have gone bust or are in danger of going bust are mismanaged by Labour. My bad on Slough. But you forgot Croydon and Thurrock. And this vast majority? Only 6 councils have gone bankrupt, 2 are Tory, 1 is Lib Dem. Then there's this.. But better off areas have higher rates, while more deprived areas can struggle to even collect council tax due to the hardship of their residents, and the promise of keeping 100% of business rates has failed to come to fruition. In reality, the figures have rarely settled out, with the Institute for Fiscal Studies saying the poorest fifth of councils are getting about 10% below their needs, compared with the richest fifth getting about 15% above their requirements. |

They went anti-car and drove away a lot of retail consumers and tried to get some back by building a retail box park yet think it a pink elephant.
Also have a lot of Afro-Caribbeans in their community and a fair number of undesirables hang around their.

The promised Crossrail link improved Croydon's prospects for a while, but they've never happened and the new retail outlets that opened on the promise are all now closed again. Croydon is becoming a run down shit hole. I think Croydon was Tory last time it went Bankrupt. But as I say, its not which party, its how wealthy the area is. |
