But of course what these nurses never mention are all their fringe benefits they receive.
More misery for patients as first national pay strike by nurses looms in weeks before Christmas
Planned walkout is expected to cause major disruption across health services The ballot is the first held in Royal College of Nursing's 106-year history Cabinet minister Oliver Dowden admits planned walkout will 'have an impact'
I have the unfortunate situation whence my wife has been diagnosed with lung cancer and is undergoing chemotherapy. Yesterday, Sunday, she had to go for a scan to see if the lesions were shrinking or not. The hospital we attended was staffed by very few nurses and those that were there have 'volunteered' their time to 'help out', no extra pay involved. The nurse that looked after my wife had been there since 6am and our appointment was 7pm, she was due to end her 'shift' at 8pm. Nurses need paying what they are worth which is at least twice as much as they are on. When you start 'attacking' some of the hardest, caring members of our society, you really have lost the plot and have no idea what is going on. Nurses work ridiculous hours but do it because they know they are making a difference; the Tories know this and use it against them. If anyone in this country should strike for better pay, nurses are at the very top of the list.

The NHS could pay nurses an awful lot more - if it cut down on waste. I see that currently the NHS is asking for another £7 Billion - without mentioning what this was going to be spent on and what improvements we would see for our money.

I edited my post to show you the fringe benefits they receive. For Example 4 of us can go to the multiplex cinema in Torbay if Debs uses her bluecard for less than just one individual. My wife has a Blue Card which certainly has saved money discount on her shopping since they were issued

Of course they get fringe benefits, as much water as they can drink. Would you care to point them out. Or is this the next imaginary enemy the little Englander UKIP thinking lying fascist who call themselves a government have invented to hate. I see they have done a bang up job on you. Were you cheering for them around two years ago at 8 pm every Thursday. As you fail to mention they have been issued another pay cut. Who will you blame this time.

I bet nurses are booking up to go to Florida during the strike on the millions they saved. And if that is your idea of a benefit of which anyone can get. Lets just say. You have won the race to the bottom www.bluelightcard.co.uk/bluelightcardnewsdetails.php?id=5cabea04-f06c-11eb-bb36-31a7d2d9d981

If you feel so strong about our nurses pay why are you not compaining over the fact they are charged £14 per shift to park their cars in NHS carparks? You haven't got a bloody clue sonny jim.
Edit.....One of the main ways NHS and care workers can get discounts is to sign up for a Blue Light Card, which costs £4.99 for two years' access. You'll need your work ID or a recent payslip to prove you're eligible for the service (it can take up to seven days to be registered).
You haven’t got a clue, the blue light card? You think that is a benefit yeah you can get a discount at lovehoney and one of the few worth anything Asda finishes at the end of the year.

You think that is a benefit yeah you can get a discount at lovehoney and one of the few worth anything Asda finishes at the end of the year. And many more are now offering this service to our selected workforce, but don't let facts spoil your little rant. Rant? No just pointing out you scrabbling to justify the idea they get fringe benefits that boost their pay then defeat your whole argument by pointing out the parking charges they face. Are you seriously trying to say a blue light card negates living costs like that?
