It is more than hard work. It matter little how many times one provides evidence that the 97% is at best exaggeration and at worst outright lies it still pops up with a disturbing regularity. It is also worrying that they demand one follows 'the science' yet wilfully ignore scientists who are producing 'the science' and disputing much of 'the science' that the alarmists accept. Submission without question is mandatory under Islam and the Left. Demonstrable bollocks. After all, I see no sign of you or anyone else here being shut down. This notion that you have lost your freedom of speech - even to say utterly stupid things, clearly - is entirely a figment of your own paranoid imagination. |

I'm not sure you will get many agreeing that womens rights are a fringe issue - it was one of the main reasons that caused the SNP's collapse in support in Scotland. I find it odd how lefties pontificate that 50% of the population are irrelevant , anyone see the bonkers nonsense Labours ridiculous ignoramous Lisa Nandy came out with? Men calling themselves women/girls are the most discriminated against groups according to her and she doesn't think body parts (as she puts it) matter. Some of us fail to see why you are so worried about it. After all, no one is going to cut your balls off, force you to wear a dress, and to change your name to Mary. |

This thread is about alternate reality, with its main dig at right wingers. There couldn't be a better topic to demonstrate that the pot here is calling the kettle black, with the Left's obsession that women with penises exist in their warped reality! It really debunks the premise of this sorry thread's intention. No insight at all. You bemoan the left's supposed obsession with men with penises, whilst yourself being apparently obsessed with the subject of men with penises. Whilst I - a bona fide left winger - attach very little importance to it at all. You need to look in the mirror. No. Just showing up your massive faux pas of a thread. The trouble with having a "live and let live" attitude towards muslims is that they don't reciprocate it. To say some Muslims do not have a live and let live attitude might be legitimate. Though the same thing could in varying degrees be said about almost all groups. But to assume this is true about all of them without a second thought as you have just done is the epitome of prejudiced assumptions in action. |

What is left wing about the appeasement of any religious beliefs?
Islam, like other Abrahamic faiths, is homophobic and illiberal.
It's ok for people to be Muslims, but not to push for theocracy. The theocratic segment of the Muslim community, needs to be countered in order to preserve the liberal way of life.
What is left wing about the EU? Nothing about it is economically left wing. It's the antithesis of anything Tony Benn, Dennis Skinner, Peter Shore, Barbara Castle, and Clement Attlee, stood for.
It is an anarcho capitalist club. A protectionist one at that. What left wing policies does it provide that you approve of?
As for Brexit, it is a resounding success. The ONS export statistics speak for themselves.

I don't think you can defend an unreal stance by saying that objections to it are focusing on trivia. An unreal stance focuses attention on itself - the issue is made non trivial by the stance. The thread is about the negativity of alternate realities and yet again and again we see people using various techniques of manipulation to forbid reality. |
