When Baghdad fell, the first thing to get toppled was a statue of Saddam Hussein. When these protestors climb our monuments with their flags, what is in their minds? It's a symbol of conquering the area, which the police say is disrespectful, but not against the law.
On Saturday people, who had actually done nothing wrong, were arrested to " prevent a breach of the peace". Now the Met is saying they can't arrest people crawling all over a war memorial. Yet another example where Braverman was correct. Wasn't it some famous pop singer's son (white, British) who was jailed for piddling on a war memorial in the last couple of years? of course Suella was correct about favourites

Well for accuracy the done nothing wrong involved throwing bottles at officers and one being hit in the face with a full beer can hurled by what you’ve called elsewhere people who are respectful. Attacking the police is neither respectful nor peaceful. And before you ask no I don’t believe people should get away with climbing on war memorials.

If you hit someone in the face, especially a Police Officer, you are arrested for assault.

If you are arrested to " prevent a breach of the peace" you have done nothing wrong at that point. They were peaceful and respectful.

No you think about it,they threw bottles at officers and one got a full can of beer in the face, now unless you think thoseofficers attacked lied please say so. Objects thrown from a crowd make it difficult to identify the perpetrators. Lol? So you think them being attacked funny?

If there were mass violence they would not have been arrested to prevent a breach of the peace they would have been arrested for a breach of the peace.

Yet another example where Braverman was correct. I wonder if they would have said that if Steven Yaxley-Lennon aka Tommy Robinson had been atop the monument?

They were - at the Cenotaph which is what the discussion was about. Your link is nowhere near the Cenotaph. I notice you make a habit of taking discussions out of context just to create an argument - I wonder why that would be... I beg your pardon are you implying I’m here for nefarious reasons? Please explain or is the simple fact of disagreeing with your posts verboten. This discussion is about the behaviour of Yaxley Lennons gorillas who you seem to admire so much. As far as context this is from the original post So this thread by virtue of the OP is not based around the cenotaph but their behaviour in general. So would you like to withdraw your insinuations and are your pronouncements as a mod that I’m up to no good?

I'm not withdrawing anything - you take comments totally out of context to try and 'prove' a different argument - yes, you are completely dishonest.

In reply all I can add is I come here not to change the world or your mind,it keeps my mind active and as I’ve said elsewhere I have the (annoying to some) habit of remembering what people have posted and when they post something similar but contradictory to the original I will point that out. I am not above inconsistencies in my argument and there was one the other day but nobody had spotted it So you might find it dishonest I think it reasonable debate but there we are.
