Because when Gary Linekar made his comments comparing the kind of rhetoric used by the government towards refugees, to the kind of rhetoric used by the Nazi's, the rules were different. The rules have now been changed.
Good for Carl Voderman, a highly inteligent lady, who has made it clear that voicing her personal opinions on social media is more important than her job at the BBC.
I am quite certain that she would be offered other positions in privately run, commercial radio or TV

She's actually completely mad, naive and rather thick. Thankfully, she is now limited to voicing her dullard opinions to her closed social media circle. I'm sure she'll still make money by whoring her celebrity status.

Big fan of cancel culture are we? No, only double standard hypocrites. But you don't want Lineker sacked for expressing an opinion yes?

Big fan of cancel culture are we? It could be as simple as BBC impartiality, where some people resent the BBC's highest paid gopher spreading hypocritical far-left propaganda whilst everyone else who may think differently must follow the so-called impartiality rules. I understand the Left live in their virtual bubble, and I guess we can partially blame the BBC for that.

Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't the BBC chairman at the time of the Lineker row a Tory donor? Hadn't other BBC presenters/personalities such as Alan Sugar expressed pro Conservative/Brexit views without comment?

No, only double standard hypocrites. But you don't want Lineker sacked for expressing an opinion yes? If I want to listen about political views, I'll come on here, or another relevant political place, I don't want to listen to some BBC second rate football pundit who I pay a licence fee that contributes to his offensive salary, I don't go to a politics site to listen to them spout about football, just like I don't expect to listen about politics from a so called football pundit, I expect him to be talking about 'football'.
