If I want to listen about political views, I'll come on here, or another relevant political place, I don't want to listen to some BBC second rate football pundit who I pay a licence fee that contributes to his offensive salary, I don't go to a politics site to listen to them spout about football, just like I don't expect to listen about politics from a so called football pundit, I expect him to be talking about 'football'. Didn't Lineker make his comment about the HS on Twitter? Every GP or medical profession that has spoke out against the COVID vaccine has been suspended or fired, regardless of where they aired their views, including Twitter.
Just like 'celebrities' they can influence the public, because they are in the public eye, that is why they are told to button it, or lose their jobs, you will never see any of the soaps promoting any political party, or for that matter trash them. It's a unwritten rule.

Didn't Lineker make his comment about the HS on Twitter? Irrelevant. No it isn't. He didn't make his comments in his capacity as BBC presenter.

"Every GP or medical profession that has spoke out against the COVID vaccine has been suspended or fired, regardless of where they aired their views, including Twitter" Have they? Do you have a link? And do you think this is right or wrong? Hopefully, but I sense the BBC are frightened of sacking him.

Btw, shouldn't the outraged left element on the forum be referring to her as 'Vorderperson'?..

A Londonderry GP has been suspended for comments she made about the Covid-19 vaccination programme.
Dr Anne McCloskey, a former Aontú councillor, expressed concerns in a social media video about young people being given the Covid-19 vaccine.
The Health and Social Care Board (HSCB) said it was suspending Dr McCloskey "as a precautionary measure while it undertakes a full investigation".
Dr McCloskey cannot work for the health service during that time.

Where does the line get drawn ?
We all accept that people such as Carol Voderman or Gary Linekar, or any BBC presenter should not make comments or give opinions on politics or controversial topics on air, either on their own respective programmes, or in an interview.
But do these people have a right to an opinion ?, the answer is Yes, of course they do; Do such people have the right to state or voice their opinion on social media ?, well according to some, no, but others say yes.
I have just checked Carol Voderman's Twitter account, she has almost 900,000 followers
MEANWHILE: Gary Linekar has waded in again this week with this on Twitter --
"Braverman wrote on X that it was “unacceptable to desecrate Armistice Day with a hate march through London”. In response, Lineker wrote: “Marching and calling for a ceasefire and peace so that more innocent children don’t get killed is not really the definition of a hate march.”
NOTHING political there, and as before he's 100% correct

I think this thread provides further proof, if any were needed, that cancel culture is not exclusive to the left.

You said every GP, that's one. Two doctors who were suspended by the Medical Council over spreading Covid-19 misinformation have won their appeals against the suspension – but it doesn’t mean they can go back to work yet. Wellington doctor Matthew Shelton was suspended after sending a text message to his patients about his anti-vaccination views stating he did not support the vaccination of children, and pregnant and fertile women. He and former Taranaki District Health Board radiologist Dr Peter Canaday challenged the suspension in a multi-day hearing in Wellington District Court in February.

At the time of the Gary Lineker row it was pointed out that other BBC figures such as Alan Sugar had made political comments on SM with right wing sympathies and the BBC upper management led by a Tory donor had let them pass without comment.

You know full well, just like I do, and the rest of the forum, anyone in the medical profession who dares speak out against the COVID vaccine, gets the bullet.
I don't have to prove anything, I just gave you a couple of examples, if your GP tells you not to get the COVID vaccine because he/she has fears about its safety, you best start looking for another GP.

No I don't know that that's why I asked. You don't have to do anything but you've made a claim you don't seem able to back up.
