Yes I see the difference, my original comment was a light hearted joking remark backing up a serious point, I can see however how it may have been difficult to tell it was a joke, the perils of online discussion. "Nope , imported cheap labour are not heroes . No more heroic than scab labour" There we will have to disagree. Cheap labour both imported and indigenous helped get us through the pandemic and win the second world war, that's just two examples. Didn’t need to see it as a joke or not. My initial point was that the Krays were nothing like as powerful as they are depicted in films . As I said before , that would of been the end of it if you wanted it to be . Imported cheap labour suppresses wages and working conditions . There’s two examples . As I said imported cheap labour are no more heroic than scab labour . [br The effect of immigration on wages is as I understand it contentious. If you don't think that low paid immigrant and indegenous NHS care workers in the pandemic, many of whom died are worthy of respect we shall have to agree to disagree.

Trying to break history into racial groups is divisive and I can see that it's motivated by a negative.
How would you teach say, the slave trade without reference to race? As all other history is taught. I never said anything about references to race. That's not my argument. People collaborate and corroborate to bring it all down to the facts and document our single linear timeline as history.

If as is argued that the contributions of black people have been airbrushed out of history, then that is where the racial division stems from.

Music that generally was improved by white musicians to make it commercial ? Performing no better or worse than white people in most endeavours ?

Were the hospital porters you saw driving Ferraris? I never said all low paid workers are heroes, but there are plenty of examples both modern and historical that are.

Let the kids be taught the facts and judge for themselves the merit of the contribution.

This was the reaction I got HH “No I'm assuming that the teaching of black history month would address the questions you've asked.” ”I assume that the questions you've asked are answered in the teaching of black history month.“

Well no because the people organising would I imagine be convinced it's not an if. As a counter argument, can you give me examples of black history being taught on the mainstream curriculum from say the 1950s up until the millennium?

So the definition of a low paid worker is a worker that cannot afford a Ferrari? Jeez.. So being a hero has no relation to your rate of pay ? Then why link the two ?

Cults have been manipulating that area of the mind since forever.
The only good argument I can think of is that it all brings a different meaning to parallel timelines. Coexistence could be, erm, troubling.

You brought up low paid workers and argued they were unworthy of recognition.

Is it cultish though or is it simply fact that black history wasn't taught in schools up until fairly recently?
