Even those that pay taxes? If you are proposing that only tax payers should vote then tell us how this will work . I did not say that but I am saying that all tax payers should vote.

We are all influenced by something or someone. Should everyone who has been 'influenced' not get a vote? Sixteen year olds are not the same as they were before the intenet and social media. The internet and social media has made 16 year olds mature , has it? FFS😆 I did not say that, I did say more informed.

Even those that pay taxes? Are you under the impression that 16 year old school children pay taxes? Yes, they are liable for 'taxes' on savings. Whether they reach the threshold to pay taxes is another matter but they are liable.

Red Rackham In the not too distant past, definitely. These days, often with both parents working, by the time they come home from work the kids are secluded in their rooms engrossed in whatever's on their computer screens .... they might emerge for a meal but that's about it. 16 year olds will vote the way their Teachers vote (well the girls will ) ..... and is there more than a handful of Teachers throughout the UK who don't have a visceral hatred of the Tories ? I agree, it seems pretty obvious to me that naive inexperienced children are easilly influenced. I listened to someone on the radio this morning who said Angela Rayner is extremely popular with 16 year olds on Twitter, it may have been TikTok, because they think she's a party girl! Nothing to do with politics. And these are the children Starmer says should have a vote.

Middle England will not support giving 16 year olds the vote, Labour take note.

Middle England will not support giving 16 year olds the vote, Labour take note. Why? Not necessarily by party yet more conservative by nature it is the same all over difference between cities and the country. This is too progressive, most are still in school or at home. Parents will recognise that too.

I notice in your thread title you call them children instead of young adults, which is what they are, is that for effect? Children conjures up images of 11,12 year olds or less.

Parents will recognise that too. And there is a difference in 20mph zones in cities and country which reflects this.
