Best if he politely just said I cannot hear nor understand what you are saying,until an interpreter is available you need to bring someone who can communicate for you. Sure But asking to her to take a piece of cloth in front of her face should also be possible, without ending up with a suspension. In large areas of the country they make up the majority, integration really isn't on the cards. |

Would it though? these are the times we live in and it would’ve saved him a whole lot of grief.Perhaps France does have some good policies. Why should he require saving in the country he has to carry out his working day in? Yet again we have to pander to alians who have no intention of fitting into our culture and ways. Maybe GP's from now on should refuse these alians when they turn up at their surgeries or practices.. I don’t make the rules Jonksy just pointing out he could’ve done it a different way and saved himself aggro,and as I pointed out France does have some good policies,if we had the same this would never have happened would it? |

Dr. Wolverson should have known that if he couldn't hear what was being said, his response should have been 'Could you speak up a bit please ?'
rather than request a female to start undressing in front of him. I think he realises he's been found guilty of a misogynistic Hate crime, and he should count himself lucky a fatwa hasn't been issued against him .... suspension and intensive diversity and sensitivity training is justified and clearly needed. Let's hope he learns from this, or next time his punishment could involve being sent on a fortnight's holiday with Angela Rayner !

The woman with the veil actually had a Stoke accent and he claimed he had difficulty understanding it. There was no criticism of his skills as a doctor. Possibly the class background he came from was driving his attitude towards some of his patients?

That's all very well, but you are not entitled to take the same approach to the 1% who are not present with any medical issue of their own. If the woman herself had been ill then fair enough, but it appears to have been her daughter who was unwell.
