Part of the problem is that those of the nasty populist Right seem to believe that ALL asylum applicants are not genuine, or that even genuine asylum seekers have no right to claim asylum in this country. and those of the loony Left seem to think that ALL asylum applicants ARE genuine, and refuse to acknowledge that some are not genuine. The reality is somewhere in between, and though I am very much in favour of sorting out the genuine from those which are merely economic migrants, and sending thos back who are not genuine, I also believe that as per international law, we must take our fair share of genuine people seeking sanctuary. If a person seeking asylum in the UK cannot do it in France, and if they have no money, no possessions, then how do you expect them to claim asylum in the UK. ? See what I mean? completely bonkers.

What do we do with them anyway ? Do the same as we do with the others but make it clear that they will never be allowed to live in the Uk permanently and will be deported in due course . A lot of countries take a a lot faster approach. Instead of endless bullshit they just say, ah you are from Albania. Albania is a holiday destination, so hardly a bad place to be in so back you go on the next flight. You see the stats for the year and you see Albania zero along with a load of other countries these scumbags come from specifically to commit crime in a rich country. Take a look at the Japanese stats on the worlddata site. absolutely no one whines about Japan. Acceptance rate overall is 3.4%. Why is it 70% in the UK? It they were not allowed to live in the UK then the’ process ‘ would be half done at the point the police picked them up.

Absolutely, no one wants all and sundry to be able to come in. Certainly not me. But I do want a system that quickly sorts the genuine from the economic migrants. Then deport the migrants back from whence they came. Not too much to ask. And stop blaming our failures on everyone else. That's just a Boris Johnson trick, and that's old hat now.

What a load of shite.....mislabelling a union of democratic states the EUSSR then relying on something disclosed by the fucking Daily Mail. When you start dealing in facts from reputable sources about correctly named organisations, I might engage with you. Otherwise it all just looks like shite to me. And France takes in far more refugees than we do so why would they be inclined to take back the minority who have travelled on to here? The Frogs may take on more dross than anyone else in the EUSSR but they soon shove them onto the UK.. And you speak of dross....lol. What total irony.

We have a Royal Navy. What is the point of it if its not used to defend our territorial waters. Frog authorities have stopped less than 50% of Channel crossing attempts in last year - despite being given £480m from British taxpayers to solve migrant crisis Figures show the Frogs is intercepting fewer than 50 per cent of Channel crossing attempts in the last year - despite a £480 million deal with the Britain to solve the migrant crisis. Last year, Rishi Sunak agreed the three-year deal with Frogland in a bid to reduce immigration. But figures obtained by The Telegraph show just 45.2 per cent of migrants have been stopped since January, in comparison to 45.8 per cent the year before. Tim Loughton, a former minister and a member of the Commons home affairs committee described the figures as 'disappointing' given the 'huge investment'. 'Clearly we are paying more money for the Frog police to continue failing to stop even more migrants on the beaches before they get into the water. We need an immediate value for money assessment of exactly what the British taxpayer is getting for their money,' he added. This follows the EUSSR's rejection of a deal which would've allowed migrants to be sent back to Fraogland. www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12418939/French-authorities-stopped-50-Channel-crossing-attempts-year-despite-given-480m-British-taxpayers-solve-migrant-crisis.html

Away with the fairies indeed. Indeed one could say shipping legal asylum seekers to another safe country called Rwanda is people smuggling...just without the financial benefits. At least that we know about...how much did the UK pay Rwanda to take them??

You arent very good at law are you? There is nothing in the UK or French law to prevent someone storing a boat behind a sand dune, launching it and heading in a direction. The people on French territory have broken no law. In fact they have no connection with France, no employment record, no personal records. France is not responsible for them in any way.
As you say, you have your Navy. You also have your Coast Guard ( the secret is in the name). The migrants are breaking YOUR law by unofficial entry EXCEPT IF THEY CLAIM ASYLUM. That is one of the items in the UN convention on refugees 1951/65. It is therefore international law and if you needed asylum, you would be damned glad it is.
I know exactly what you would say if the transport was reversed and the UK was asked to patrol 800 miles of sand dunes 24 hours a day for the benefit of France.
Now i am SOOOO sorry you and your 52% were too thick to see the obvious future in 2016. You knew what you were voting for...and are STILL whining and complaining and making that choice someone else's fault.
FFS take responsibility for your own decisions and grow up.
I have to laugh that you blame France for not doing what the UK wants, even when it does. And yet when asked "why Brexit" your answer comes back INDEPENDENCE.

That Jeff Taylor could do with more freedom of movement, maybe go out for a run or a bike ride. Instead of sitting on his backside all day.

Actually, they're illegal immigrants into France. Perhaps you should grow up and deal with your illegal immigrant problem instead of passing it on to us

What are your thoughts of illegals paying people traffickers in Africa then when they land in the EU they're put in detention centres, I know the EU don't shout about it but I believe there are no fewar than five EU immigrant detention centres in Greece. The EU call them 'Closed Control Access Centres' or CCAC's (Sounds better than detention centre) where illegals live in very basic container accommodation behind razor wire fences patrolled by guards. In comparison the Bibby Stockholm is absolute luxury. Yet oddly, outraged lefties are absolutely silent about the EU immigrant detention centres or CCAC's, but claim the Bibby Stockholm is amongst other things, a prison and a floating concentration camp. Yes indeed, you lefties are away with the outraged ill informed fairies.
