Nobody wants these people and so your options are fairly limited: 1) Do nothing. 2) Ship them back to France or another country. 3) Stop them reaching English shores in the first place. DNA would probably give you the place of origin.

Labour are sitting back in the hopes the Tories will sort if for them, if the Tories do manage to get some sort of sensible solution in place Labour will declare if they win the next GE ... 'we can't undo what the nasty Tories have done' ... but don't forget we're the good guys, it wasn't us who done it. ... LOL... you can read them like a book.

"Not Our Problem" is the attitude of many on these boards, just so long as the problem goes away, goes somewhere else, then we are happy.
If a Syrian person decides to go to England to start a new life and passes through France on the way, and if that person makes it across the channel to England, then what makes anyone believe we have the right to send them back to France. ?
That person IS NOT French, and there is no requirement in international law for France to take ANY responsibility for that person.
You cannot send Syrian people to France, but you can send them to Syria or to a Syrian refugee camp in Turkey, providing Turkey agrees.

We've had territorial wars since time began, those wars were fought so people could have their own identities their own nationalities, their own religions.
It's not up to the people to decide that they don't like their identities, they don't like their nationality, they don't want to live in a predominantly black country they want to live in a predominantly white country, and visa versa.
It doesn't work like that, this is why countries have a legal process in place that if you want to do that ^^ you have to do it legally, these illegal migrants think they can skip that process and fast-track themselves to the UK illegally via any route. ........ it doesn't work that way.

In fact FOM was one way of fast-tracking for people wanting to leave their place of birth, and now we know thanks to the EU and incompetent Tony Blair ..... it's NOT WORKING.

Sending them back to France never worked when we were in the EU, so rather a forlorn hope now. Offshore processing is the only option. Not the only option. Other countries have set a time limit on how long it takes to process a migrant. 6 months usually. This stops the overcrowding and the disgraceful politicking that happens around their detainment. What happens after 6 months?

We should stop paying the EUSSR divorce payments then FFS.
EUSSR blocks a deal which would allow Britain to send Channel migrants back to France, leaked documents reveal.
Brussels has ruled out a deal which would allow Channel migrants to be sent back to France, leaked documents show.
Official records indicate the refusal came from one of European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen's most trusted aides.
German politician Bjoern Siebert told senior British officials the bloc will refuse to consider signing a post-Brexit 'returns agreement', the Mail can disclose today.
Mr Siebert, who is Mrs von der Leyen's head of cabinet, delivered the defiant rejection at a face-to-face meeting with the Cabinet Office's National Security Adviser Sir Tim Barrow earlier this year, the papers show.
It means Britain will remain unable to return small boat migrants to France for the foreseeable future.
What a load of shite.....mislabelling a union of democratic states the EUSSR then relying on something disclosed by the fucking Daily Mail. When you start dealing in facts from reputable sources about correctly named organisations, I might engage with you. Otherwise it all just looks like shite to me. And France takes in far more refugees than we do so why would they be inclined to take back the minority who have travelled on to here?

The hard truth is that Labour is sitting back because it does not want to either offend the racist vote on the one hand, nor the progressive/ wokey vote on the other. As with many things, it is saying next to fuck all about very much in the hope that the shocking levels of shiteness by the Tories will be enough to gift it to them. This is what happens when a party pf principle turns on its own most principled members, run by a leadership interested only in power at any cost and for its own sake, no principles not up for sale. Our democracy with its current voting system is in severe trouble because the only two parties that can win under it are run by corrupt and unprincipled liars and charlatans in it for themselves, with neither party fit to govern

One reason we are seeing no policies from Labour, because they are trying to appease too many 'potential' voters, they are trying to be all things to all people, but that doesn't work in politics, if it did there would never be any opposition, because 'everyone' would be happy with the one government who was providing that.
There is only so long Starmer can sit on the fence, we are looking at around 12 months to the next GE, a lot can happen in 12 months, perhaps things could get worse or better for the Tories, but is Starmer willing to risk that, on the hopes he's going to be elected not on how well he performed, but on how badly the Tories did. If that's his thinking, he's in trouble.

The UK treats them above its own citizens, like 4 star hotels. They are only in France to get here. The thing is the French are OK with us. Most of the complaints are misunderstandings brought by stupid journalists. The problem is the laws we are signed up to. That is the ECHR and the 1951 refugee convention of the UN. A Daily Mail journalist does not even know what a electric car is, so you can't rely on these people.
