Consider that France is weaponising immigrants in the same way as Belarus . I mean, criminal gangs being harshly dealt with, I doubt would meet little resistance. Regarding the migrants? What are you going to do with the Tens of thousands of migrants you arrest each month? Where are you going to put them? If you’re going to ‘ship’ then anywhere, where? At what cost? What if that country refuses to take part? For example, Unlike dinghy’s rocking up on the shores of England, if we just shipped people back to France, they could, and very likely would impound any ferries or transport ships participating. How do we handle that? What do we do with them anyway ? Do the same as we do with the others but make it clear that they will never be allowed to live in the Uk permanently and will be deported in due course . |

As far as I know, what we’re doing with the others isn’t anything right now? If I read what most folk here are saying, all we do is put them up in 4 star hotels?

Well we shouldn’t be giving them any incentive to move across the channel. Any migrant illegally entering the UK should not be allowed permanent residence and should be deported,on the grounds of national security. We can’t do what Poland does when Belarus weaponises migrants so we have to deal with the ones who land in our shore as we deal with criminal migrants . |

As far as I know, what we’re doing with the others isn’t anything right now? If I read what most folk here are saying, all we do is put them up in 4 star hotels? Problem is Tincs, all the hotels are full which is why illegals are being told to go and live with relatives. I know, you couldn't make it up. |

Here we have criminal people traffickers taking tens of thousands to smuggle people into the UK
These illegal migrants are then criminals themselves, engaging in criminal activity.
They illegal arrive in the UK and then start dishing out 'their list of demands'.
They want the best accommodation, money on tap, food, drink, clothing ...the list goes on.
What's even more laughable the government are bowing down to their demands, over and above it's own citizens.
FFS this government has lost the plot, France bungs them in Shanty town if they are lucky, is it any wonder they want to the soft touch UK.

A lot of countries take a a lot faster approach. Instead of endless bullshit they just say, ah you are from Albania. Albania is a holiday destination, so hardly a bad place to be in so back you go on the next flight. You see the stats for the year and you see Albania zero along with a load of other countries these scumbags come from specifically to commit crime in a rich country. Take a look at the Japanese stats on the worlddata site. absolutely no one whines about Japan. Acceptance rate overall is 3.4%. Why is it 70% in the UK? |

She said genuine refugees would be grateful, tearful even, just happy to be safe. But she said the people she see's comming up the beach look confident, they're often laughing and taking selfies on their smart phones, and they have a sense of entitlement because they're briefed by UK charities in Calais exactly what they are 'entitled' to. [Which is a damned sight more than British homeless people are entitled to] |

Part of the problem is that those of the nasty populist Right seem to believe that ALL asylum applicants are not genuine, or that even genuine asylum seekers have no right to claim asylum in this country.
and
those of the loony Left seem to think that ALL asylum applicants ARE genuine, and refuse to acknowledge that some are not genuine.
The reality is somewhere in between, and though I am very much in favour of sorting out the genuine from those which are merely economic migrants, and sending thos back who are not genuine, I also believe that as per international law, we must take our fair share of genuine people seeking sanctuary.
If a person seeking asylum in the UK cannot do it in France, and if they have no money, no possessions, then how do you expect them to claim asylum in the UK. ?
