There is probably no real need to even leave the convention (though i have no objection to doing so) Indeed - we can just ignore any decisions from the ECHR. You would have to scrap the HRA though (no loss at all).

Good YouTube channel Orac, just subscribed and look forward to watching more. I absolutely agree with Morgoth's Review, I've said a few times that the government are guilty of treason, I can see why people laugh when I say that, it sounds archaic, it's not the language we use today. But it's perfectly true, the government is guilty of treason. Treason: "the act of betraying one's country", and I'm struggling to think of a time in our long history when any government betrayed the people more than this government have, and continue to do so. And the video is right, it isn't incompetence or stupidity, quite the reverse. This is planned, regardless of what the people want or think, this is a political agenda across all parties, and of course the EU. One glimmer of hope we may have is that it will likely push people to the political right, people who are or were politically neutral, politically centrist will become increasingly disillusioned and be pushed to the right. This is how UKIP managed to win 12.7% of the popular vote. You may have thought that politicians would have learned from past mistakes, but alas it seems they are destined to treat the electorate with utter contempt. One of the best channels on YT. Also I love the landscape, ramble style of presentation - like having a chat with a friend on a walk. Here is another masterpiece from a few months ago -

Oh ffs, I haven't listened to it yet but just the sight of Benjamin Butterworth has got my tick going.

I'd just note that many of Morgoth's harder hitting commentaries don't make it onto Youtube. He did one a couple of months ago about the Titan submersible that went down in the North Atlantic. The theme once again was the tension between competence and diversity but in this case he elected not to make a Youtube version of it on account of what he termed its 'racially overt' perspective. It's available on substack here. Well worth the trouble to read.

Just watched a clip from a 1989 PMQ's in which Mrs Thatcher in an ill tempered reply across the despatch box said...
...'If we cannot remove illegal migrants we welcome international chaos'.
Courtesy of the EU, the international chaos she spoke of is here.

Mrs Thatcher was right of course, but we shouldn't lose sight of the fact that one of her ideological soulmates Boris Johnson called for an amnesty for illegal immigrants not just once but twice.
Or that one of Boris's protegés, the current prime minister, is in the process of implementing an actual amnesty in order to fulfil his pledge to eliminate the legacy backlog by the end of the year.

Actually not. I have seen that one as well. The one I refer to is "Too Heavy for Superman: On the increasing load diversity is placing upon mighty shoulders" morgoth.substack.com/p/too-heavy-for-supermanIn the comments Morgoth responds to a query about why it hasn't appeared in a video format with "I'm not sure if it's YouTube safe because of the overt racial themes."

Contrast the Concorde flight crew above with that of this USAF KC-135 tanker somewhere in the Middle East. If that doesn't encapsulate the 'Competency Crisis' I don't know what does.

I know its terrible isn't it. They come across to this country, walk down to the benefits office and sign on, get given a phone and a car and a brand new house. Someone ought to do something about this. Whatever they are given it's bound to be much more appealing than this.
You do know that the French do not supply asylum seekers with tents in fact they have burnt down a few sites and offered the asylum seekers proccesing in France but they want to come to the UK.

I think the French attitude is "You broke into our country and we would like you to fuck off" - an entirely understandable sentiment imho.
However, as we can see from history, it's very difficult to get onside with the French even when they are being invaded.

As at 11am today 500 illegals have landed on English beaches. People traffickers in the EU state of France may beat all records today. What will Sunak do? Give Macron more cash perhaps.
Edit: the first boat landed at 3.30am this morning.

Edit: the first boat landed at 3.30am this morning. The only way forward is to take the boats and the people back to where they started. I can't see any other way. If there is an EU/UN outcry as there was when Australia cracked down, so be it.

There is plenty Starmer and Labour can be doing about it, they are in opposition government which doesn't mean they are lame ducks, we seen how they can operate when they want to, look how they fought with so much determination, they were exhausted fighting 'partygate', they made sure Johnson was gone, how come when it comes to the illegal migrants 'there's nothing we can do about' if only they showed that same enthusiasm, determination and relentlessness as they showed with partygate.
