Tories in Wales voted for the 20mph speed limit 7 to 1.
The Tories are against a policy they widely support.
This is another 'culture' war, just like ULEZ in London, stated by the Tories for political gain.

The RAC report contains the shocking revelation that the politicians responsible for the reduction expected the public to believe their bullshit.

Tories in Wales voted for the 20mph speed limit 7 to 1. The truth is that in a vote to scrap this bollox all but one of the Tories in the assembly voted to scrap it while the other abstained The vote was lost with 38 Nays from every Cottage Burner Every Lib Dem and all but six labour twats (who abstained) www.walesonline.co.uk/news/politics/live-updates-senedd-members-vote-27704577.ampAnyone who has ever tried to work out who voted which way on anything in that fucking madhouse knows they do their best to make the records as indecipherable as the cottage burners language but some heroic soul DID post a summary on arsebook which i will attempt to find In the meanwhile if you've any more complete fucking lies you want to try and slip past me, do carry on …

Any policy that puts you in a lower gear with higher revs will not save fuel, or reduce pollution.
There is ONLY one case for lower speed limits that has any validity. Survival rates for pedestrians in an accident are far higher at 20mph than at 30mph.

That, is going to cause problems for a lot of motorists. Ridiculous. Welsh drivers will now get picked up for curb crawling.

Survival rates for pedestrians in an accident are far higher at 20mph than at 30mph. Modern cars can quite comfortably be driven in third or even fourth gear. I do it every day. Saying lives or catastrophic injuries is paramount.

A lot of poorer motorists cannot afford a "modern car" but nevertheless need a car.
20mph speed limits near schools, yes, all for it. 20mph speed limits for the sake of the climate? Nah. Bad idea.

I wonder if the cyclists who have this idea that they are above the law will abide by this total madness?

Aged 16 I could do more than 30mph on a bicycle. But, I didn't drink back then. These days, older, heavier and working behind a desk doesn't help.

I wonder if the cyclists who have this idea that they are above the law will abide by this total madness? There is a significant number of all two wheel road-users who ignore the highway code (especially among motorised two-wheelers, the scooter L-platers) — but I agree push-bike riders figure highly overall.
Unfortunately, the highway code appears to class cyclists as an endangered species who need to be absolved from responsibility if they become involved in (or, more likely, cause) road accidents...

As a reformed cyclist, I agree.
Can't believe how unfit I am these days though. Jeez.

By a school, definitely. Outside my home? Nah. Quite happy to see cars go by at 30mph.

Petrol and diesel cars put out more exhaust gasses at 20MPH than they do at 30MPH...So how do you get about RR? A witches broomstick maybe as you know very little on the subject.
