That, is going to cause problems for a lot of motorists. Sounds like they will need to speed up: Not mph - kph!

Dont fucking start ne.
Oh you have
As i have already posted elsewhere the welsh wanker in cardiff stated this should only be in side roads residential streets outside schools shops and hospitals etc
Places where loony Labour fuckabouters fear eradication have stuck to that. Cwmbran’s main road network has all been excepted and the speed limits remain unchanged. I have tried to get my chelsea tractor above 25 on the roads they will make 20 and i have failed. And i was an active rally driver in my mych younger days.
So in Cwmbran i wont notice it
In Newport every fucking inch of road is being blanketed. And it will all be ignored. And with any luck the welsh wanker will be run over by a noiseless electric bus.

That, is going to cause problems for a lot of motorists. That’s not the half of it. Now it is crucial to understand the twats behind this are Labour, and very publicly and very noisily proclaimed the change will make bugger all difference. Bull Shit Newport Bus have just published their adjusted timetables imposed as a result of the reduction of the bus fleet’s speeds to two thirds of what it was My eldest has for the last five years held down two part time jobs. She leaves the house at seven thirty every morning to walk the two miles to the first one because there is no bus. She then walks back home, gets changed, gets on the first of two buses to get to the second one, does that, then gets on the same two buses in reverse, gets changed and walks those two miles again each way to carry out the second session of the first job She is dyslexic which has caused her problems driving and she only has an automatic licence. She does not actually earn enough to own and run a car which is why she has to walk that distance each working day And the new bus timetables mean she no longer has time to get to the second job so will have to give one up and face tbe wrath of the DWP. Labour : making it impossible for working class people to do working class jobs. I’d never have thought it possible. But this is wales where government is run by people who think burning cottages is a goid way to achieve their political ends.

In London the Labour run administration are very aware that Ulez is very unpopular but they don't care, they imposed it anyway. And Raynor said if Labour are elected Ulez will be run out all over the country. In Birmingham the Labour run administration are very aware that Ulez is very unpopular but they don't care, they imposed it anyway. And in Wales the Labour run administration are very aware that 20mph speed limits are very unpopular but they don't care, they're imposing it anyway.
In short, Labour aren't in power and they are not listening. Imagine how much worse it would be if Starmer was prime minister.

I would expect a political reaction next election though whether that will bring about a change in policy is debatable.

Dont fucking start ne. Oh you have As i have already posted elsewhere the welsh wanker in cardiff stated this should only be in side roads residential streets outside schools shops and hospitals etc . . I'd be OK with a 20 mph policy so limited. What pisses me off is so many cars have speed limiter functions that don't work below 30 mph so adhering to it becomes very difficult except for those that feel driving looking mostly at the speedometer rather than the road is somehow safe.

What pisses me off is so many cars have speed limiter functions that don't work below 30 mph so adhering to it becomes very difficult except for those that feel driving looking mostly at the speedometer rather than the road is somehow safe. so would i But thats not what the wanker HAS done I’ve put this comparison up once already but for those who dont know the streets involved … Cwmbran is five mediaeval village hamlets bulldozed in the fifties to make a new town. The road network is a series of looping roads that encircle the housing which is reached generally by short side roads leading to a road running the length of the housing So to drive to the pub it’s a 70 dual carriageway to a 60 single carriageway 3 lane bypass to a 50 that runs past the turnoffs to the industrial estates then becomes a 30 after the cemetary The looping roads are all 30. I need to drive about a half mile along them taking two roundabouts before the final left turn to the pub car park. Cwmbran are making that last eighty feet a twenty zone. And all of the miles of similar internal roads on the housing estates. None of the outer loop roads change. None of the main through route roads change. I’ve tried to do more than 20 on that last stretch and ok my car is a fully switchable 4wd with very low ratio 1st and 2nd gears i cant get above 15 So the twenty limit will add five seconds to the two and a half minutes of cwmbrans roads i need to drive over to get to the pub Unsurprisingly, no one in Cwmbran is complaining In Newport EVERY INCH of the road network including the existing 50mph by passes miles from any house is being slapped down to 20 because the labour council who’ve never been thrown off their pedestal since boundary changes 50 years ago gifted them the place openly fucking hate cars and say so often.

Brilliant. Just need a person with a red flag walking in front of the car next and we'll be back 100+ years.

Welsh people have started fighting back against the country's new 20mph speed limit by painting over newly-erected road signs for the newly-restricted zones.
Furious locals spray painted over signs for the 20mph limit after Wales's new rules came into force today as lorry drivers also vowed to show their opposition by driving at 19mph.
The clampdown has seen Wales become the first country in the UK to reduce speed limits down from 30mph in built-up residential areas with a view to saving lives and cutting costs for the NHS.
The Conservatives have, however, called the Labour-run Welsh government's ULEZ-style clampdown 'ludicrious' as they accused the devolved authority of having an 'anti-worker, anti-road and anti-motorist agenda'.
Now, motorists have reported feeling scared to drive on Welsh roads amid the threat of penalties and widespread confusion about the new rules.

I'd love to know just how many lives are being saved by this new policy. I dare say the answer will be very close to zero.

I dare say the answer will be very close to zero. according to Bath County Council, the 20 zone increased the number of injuries because people started igniring tbe danger 20mph zones can see roads become more dangerous Study also reveals average speed reduction brought about by 20mph limits is just 1.3mph
Do 20mph speed limits reduce the number of car crashes and casualties?
Reducing speed limits from 30mph to 20mph has "little impact" on road safety, according to a study from Queen’s University Belfast, Edinburgh University and the University of Cambridge.
