Twatford humiliated as more people sign 20mph petition than voted Labour.More people have signed a petition against Wales's new 20mph speed limit than voted for Welsh Labour at the last Senedd election. Earlier this month, Wales became the first country in the UK to drop the default speed limit from 30mph to 20mph for residential roads. A petition against the move by the Labour-run Welsh Government has now surpassed 443,000 names. It means more people have signed the petition than voted for Twatfordss party at the Welsh Parliament elections in 2021. Welsh Conservative leader Andrew RT Davies said: "Over 443,000 people have signed the record-breaking petition against Labour's blanket 20mph speed limits.

Oh dear you have been fooled again. Petition question: Stop the Welsh Govt imposing blanket 20mph speed limits across the whole of Wales by 2023. It is not a blanket speed limit, this is a lie. "The minister said that where the case was made for roads have a speed limit of 30mph, rather than 20mph, it would be set at 30. "So there's no blanket 20 mile an hour, as the Conservatives wrongly claim." "It is not a uniform speed limit. It is not a blanket speed limit". I would sign it if it was a 'blanket' 20mph limit. It is also, as far as I can see a national petition that means people like me can sign it even though I live in Scotland. I may be wrong here and am open to correction. |

So you are saying that the 20mph speed limit applies to all roads in Wales? i.e. a blanket speed limit. And are you saying the the poll conducted was not a national poll and that people in Scotland, England and NI could not vote in it? |
