Now out of that same embarrassment and jackbooting of opinion, Greenpeace has been gagged in government meetings.
Mind you i doubt anyone listened to them anyway. Government didnt like to be opposed.
But frankly this is yet another example of the decay of freedom of speech.
Achtung! You will obey and not disagree. There vill be consequences.
If you are as concerned about beaurocratic control as you say you are re the EU, you should look to your own example.
No one elected this Tory government. Yet they are totally deaf. Their mouths move in mysterious ways but they are stone deaf to all except those with the deepest pockets.

Opération Satanique
Fernando Pereira, a photographer was trapped and drowned in the sinking ship.
The UK government have not been so extreme.
