Yesterday on this board we had members thinking that people didn't become asylum seekers until they had been granted asylum. T oday we have the myth of being required to seek asylum in first safe country.That's the problem. 100% opinion with 0% understanding. Nothing mythical about it. Aoart from your beloved EUSSR ushering this dross across their member states to be foisted onto the UK by the Frogs. What the fuck have we paid millions to t he Frogs for? Nothing to do with the EU. Like I said, you just made it up. 🙄 |

Like I said, you just made it up. 🙄 Well whilst you say it’s nothing to do with the eu it very much is and the attitude you left so **** you,the UN convention on refugees was formulated in a different time and needs updating and if your faith revolves around the eu you may well find attitudes changing there. |

I believe that the root cause of the problem is the fact that this Country is now completely dysfunctional, particularly in the public sector, we can no longer do anything properly or in a timely way.
If those new British wading ashore were met by an official who handed them a National Insurance number, a tent and a fifty pound note and transport was available to drive them to potato picking fields, factories and the country side where they could then support themselves doing menial jobs for less than the minimum wage then everyone could be happy, the employers would have a steady supply of non unionised labour, the migrants would have the dignity of labour and the sense of belonging that paying income tax brings and we, the public, would not have to fund barges, hotels, spas or long term idleness.
Possibly those intending to start a new life here might think twice if it involved having to fend for themselves on arrival.

'Revenge', they are glad to be shut of us.😂 We do give millions to the French to boost their border force at the coast but the French coastline is over 2000 miles long. We would be better building facilities to process claims in France but we will not do that. Almost like we don't want to stop the boats, surely that can't be true, can it? |

Sorry, I missed your question, although I have answered this to Red Rackham when he asked me. Yes, the convention probably needs revisiting as the world has changed. As to how it needs to be reworked, I don't have enough info to have an opinion. |
