We've wasted millions upon millions now, so we may as well cut our losses, the government should now offer to 'pay' for any illegal migrant who regrets coming here, give them a wad of cash and send them packing, lay on the transport to ship them out of the country, then hopefully they can spread the word ... forget going to the UK the land of milk and honey has turned into sour grapes. It already does, but very few take up the offer, only 1,922 in the year ending September 2022. Probably needs to offer more dosh.

I was just thinking how lucky most of us were, growing up with a free gym, sauna, medical assistance on the doorstep, three square meals a day, free money to spend in the local shop. These poor bastards are having it tough.

Thanks Dan, I didn't actually know that, maybe the government should start promoting it more, maybe handing out leaflets on the Bibby stockholm, and hotels, I think once they realise they are at the bottom of the chain they might have second thoughts, the best on offer to them is some dodgy landlord who'll take their money while they sleep on a mattress along with another 40 illegals all sharing a two-up-two down, about time the government cracked down on greedy landlords.

How I wish I was bunked up with a complete stranger in a small cabin in a prison with 500 other guys living miles away from the nearest town in which to spend my £9 per week with nothing whatsoever to do. At least we have four gym machines between the 500 of us.....
Try to keep it real, Sheepy.

Lets hope there were plenty of locals there to give them a warm shake of the throat.......Come and go as they like up to 11pm, in house medical staff, gym, TV lounges, English lessons, yet all this doesn't stop some charities calling the conditions inhumane. It's unbelievable!!! Migrants board Bibby Stockholm: Up to 50 single men are greeted by pro-migrant campaigners bearing gift packages of flowers, maps and shampoo as they finally move onto the Dorset-based vessel The first asylum seekers have been pictured boarding the Bibby Stockholm barge following weeks of delays - as a charity revealed its lawyers had managed to stop 20 people from boarding. More than a dozen migrants - the first of 50 expected to board today - were driven to Portland Port in Dorset from hotels in Oxford, Bristol, Torbay and Bournemouth. A minibus with blacked-out windows drove through the gates at 10.25am followed by a blue coach 45 minutes later.
Campaigners brought bunches of flowers and welcome packs containing basic toiletries and other useful items, including a map of the area. But they were not able to give these directly to the migrants and had to leave them with security staff at the port gate. Pictures showed men carrying suitcases and a plastic laundry bag being escorted on to the barge by staff in high-vis jackets, while a coach was also seen arriving at the port. However, according to refugee charity Care4Calais, around 20 asylum seekers did not board the barge because their transfers were 'cancelled' by lawyers. The Bibby Stockholm is the Home Office's solution to its rocketing £6million-a-day hotel bill for new arrivals. The barge will eventually house 500 men aged 18 to 65 as they wait for their asylum applications to be processed. Today, new figures showed the number of migrants staying in hotels has hit 50,000, a 25 per cent increase from 40,000 in December, when Rishi Sunak promised to end the placement of asylum seekers in hotels. www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12379869/Bibby-Stockholm-welcomes-migrants-today-Arrivals-receive-goody-bags-phone-friend-hotline-enjoy-tending-allotments-guided-hikes-Dorset-countryside-cycling-cricket.html

Poor DD is still living with the memory of a fry's chocolate bar stolen from the local corner shop as the only treat in the 50's.

The Bibby company and it's associates have been receiving threats from people who oppose the barge, they are taking it serious.

'Political cowardice': Corbyn hits out at Labour position on migrant barges Story by Alexandra Rogers, political reporter • 5h Jeremy Corbyn has accused Sir Keir Starmer of "political cowardice" after the party said it would continue to temporarily house asylum seekers on barges if it wins the next election.
The former Labour leader described the use of vessels as "morally indefensible". It comes as the first asylum seekers arrived on the controversial Bibby Stockholm vessel in Dorset this morning, with more arrivals expected throughout the day. The barge is one of a number of alternative sites the Home Office is using to end reliance on expensive hotels for asylum seekers, which the government says is costing the taxpayer £6m a day. On Sunday, Shadow Immigration Minister Stephen Kinnock admitted Labour would have "no choice" but to continue to use the alternative sites owing to the "mess" it would inherit from the Conservatives - but said the party would try to move asylum seekers out of hotels, barges and military camps as "quickly as possible". International Trade Secretary Nick Thomas-Symonds reiterated Labour's position this morning, telling Sky News: "We have to address the situation that we inherit, but our policy is to drive the backlog down so we don't have to use the barges, we don't have to use the bases, we don't have to use the hotels.

Is that why they want to process asylum seekers in France an offer that the government have refused. When have you heard someone from Labour saying they do not want to stop the boats? Being in opposition does mean you can do nothing. Are you saying Labour should have agreed with the government, which they did on a number of occasions, even if they thought a particular policy was wrong? If it's a fact as you say please show the evidence. You've spouted that nonsense before, this government have offered France our own border force FREE of charge to patrol the French borders, they said ...... NO
Show me where Macron or France suggested a processing center in France?
Macron is almost laying on the shuttle service for them, why isn't he arresting any people traffickers his end?
Stop being a clown red, it's irritating.
