I have a very good friend who is manager of several care homes, and when Matt Hancock declared that he had (quote) "thrown a protective ring around care homes", my friend laughed and laughed out so bloody loud.
As an opposition party, it is Labours job to hold the governing party to account, and when the Tories are back in opposition, I am sure they will do the same.
There were some major blunders made by the governmment during the pandemic, and one specific major blunder was to allow UNTESTED elderly patients to return back to their care homes after been in hospital.
There was no "Protective Ring" thrown around care homes, and in reality THOUSANDS died in care homes, because measures were not good enough.
I remember watching Sky News with a care home manager confronting an ambulance crew who were insisting that they were returning a resident from hospital, the care home manager said to the paramedics "no your bloody well not, so you can turn around and go".
There was NOTHING startling about the vaccine roll-out, even though the Tories kept on repeating it over and over again, most developed countries did equally as good a job, and whilst the NHS did do a good job, and I both commend and thank NHS staff for what they did - it was not really any different to what happened in Germany, Israel, the USA or Sweden.

Do we know why they have refused to board? The asylum seekers have a responsibility under the convention to go where the receiving nation directs them in terms of residence. Even if it's not suitable?

So you are saying the people of this country 'do not want to stop' the boats crossing the channel? Labour are not supporting the treatment the asylum seekers are enduring under the Tory policies.Labour have told the government what they should be doing and what they would do. Covid was a paradise for Tory cronyism. Why would Labour 'rather' people die during Covid, that does not make any sense and as for the 'sniping line that is just typical Tory rhetoric. Labour are the opposition party and if they think the government of the day are doing something the wrong way they have a duty to 'oppose' what the government is doing, do you not understand that? They offered a lot of alternative during Covid just as they are doing with the 'asylum seeker' problem. The opposition party does not have 'policies' they can only say what they would do if in power and they did. NO, I'm saying Labour do not want to stop the boats crossing the channel.
Labour have admitted they are going to use the 'barge'. of 'illegal migrants'
Labour might have been in opposition during COVID, but that doesn't mean they could do nothing. They just sat back and said 'with any luck the Tories will fuck this up, and we'll make political ground out of it' .... they had no intentions of helping during COVID, what good would that have done them in the polls, they wanted every Tory plan to fail, and they didn't care one jot about those who would suffer as a consequence .......... FACT.
Is that why they want to process asylum seekers in France an offer that the government have refused. When have you heard someone from Labour saying they do not want to stop the boats? Being in opposition does mean you can do nothing. Are you saying Labour should have agreed with the government, which they did on a number of occasions, even if they thought a particular policy was wrong? If it's a fact as you say please show the evidence.

Why are the leaving a safe country, England, to get to Wales?

You've spouted that nonsense before, this government have offered France our own border force FREE of charge to patrol the French borders, they said ...... NO
Show me where Macron or France suggested a processing center in France?
Macron is almost laying on the shuttle service for them, why isn't he arresting any people traffickers his end?
Stop being a clown red, it's irritating.

**Welcome to the Bibby Stockholm** ... not quite what you had in mind when you risked your life on a dinghy to get to the UK ........... LOL That amuses you? Absolutely, to think they've given thousands of pounds to criminals, and they are criminals themselves, thinking they were going to end up in a detached house in Mayfair, all bought and paid for, and a stream of luxury cars, and young girls ......... LOL ...... Welcome to reality... if I was them I'd demand a refund.......... LOL

We've wasted millions upon millions now, so we may as well cut our losses, the government should now offer to 'pay' for any illegal migrant who regrets coming here, give them a wad of cash and send them packing, lay on the transport to ship them out of the country, then hopefully they can spread the word ... forget going to the UK the land of milk and honey has turned into sour grapes.

According to the latest news only two alleged Asylum Seekers are on board the Barge, the others due to board today have refused to go aboard, what do they want a Suite in the Ritz ? According to the Guardian:
"...The refugee charity Care4Calais said it had stopped 20 people from being forced to board the barge so far, with referrals coming in from hotels by the hour.
“None of the asylum seekers we are supporting have gone to the Bibby Stockholm today as legal representatives have had their transfers cancelled,” Steve Smith, the charity’s CEO, said."
Nice to know who's really running the show.

This will make or break the Tories, and Labour aren't off the hook.
Labour run councils are under pressure to stop migrants being housed in hotels or anywhere in their area.
Labour can't keep blaming the Tories because people can see they aren't doing anything about it.
The more the Tories try to solve the problem and get thwarted by the lefties, the more people are swinging to the Tories ...... poor old Labour, the political football isn't working this time.
