Australian BILLIONAIRE investor threatens to pull out of the UK and take his business to North America.
Andrew Forrest, the Billionaire mining entrepreneur has told journalists today that he will pull out of Britain and move elsewhere because of what he called Rishi Sunaks "clickbait fossil fuel plans". He made the announcement as Britain attracted worldwide criticism, with many ridiculing the UK government.
Amongst the many projects Mr Forrest is funding are a major deal with JCB, as well as building a factory to produce batteries and electric powertrains for heavy industry vehicles and trains in Oxfordshire.
Michael Bloss, a Green MEP from Germany, said the UK had lost all credibility. “The UK has lost its leadership on this issue. The International Energy Agency said in 2021 that there must not be new fossil fuel exploration in order to try and keep [the goal of limiting heating to 1.5C above pre-industrial levels] alive.”
In the US, Paul Bledsoe, an ally of President Joe Biden and a former climate adviser to Bill Clinton, said the Conservative government was increasingly seen in the US as backsliding on climate commitments, with the North Sea oil drilling scheme just the latest example.
“Far-right Tories are beginning to resemble US Republicans, a development that can only undermine UK credibility internationally and improve Labour party prospects,” said Bledsoe, a strategic adviser at the Progressive Policy Institute in Washington DC.

Criticism from German politicians is hilarious considering they tore down a wind farm to expand a coal mine .. I doubt any of this oil and gas expansion will actually materialise but it certainly has got Labour supporters like Sid flapping as Labours lead diminishes..

(2) IpsosUK - LAB: 45% (-2) CON: 28% (+3) LDEM: 12% (-1) GRN: 6% (-2) Labour lead by 16
(3) RedfieldWilton - LAB: 43% (-2) CON: 28% (-) LDEM: 11% (-3) REF: 7% (+1) GRN: 5% (+1) Labour lead 15

If we'd have took notice to polls, we would still be in the EU, and Hillary Clinton would have been the 45th President..... LOL

If only woke lefties kept their promises. Didn’t loads of them promise to sell up and piss off if we left the EU ?

Far from being a digression, remember, about 640 watts per square metre at noon on a GOOD day with no cloud and no pollution, 250 at best with cloud cover and half that when the sun is less than 60 degress in the sky, and those panels are at best 30%-50% efficient at capturing that. They were 15% efficient when i wrote the research up for the institute of mechanical engineers as a callow youth with the letters B, S and C just added to my name and in search of something to use them for that put food on the table Yes indeed. I mentioned elswhere that a 1mw coal power station used to provide reliable electricity to c500,000 homes. A wind farm with a footprint four times larger than a 1mw coal power station provides electricity to c50,000 homes, when it's windy.

So man who made £billions from digging stuff up doesn't like competition from other companies digging stuff up. Who knew? 🤣

It takes 333 wind turbines of the 3 megawatt variety to produce the 1 gigawatt of a large coal fired power station. 333 wind turbines covers a large area, land or sea. Although they reckon 2kW per home, average usage is less than that.

A coal power station with two 500mw generating sets (See Rugeley B) provided electricity for c500,000 homes. A wind farm with four times the footprint provides electricity for c50,000 homes, when it's windy. Wind and solar are very expensive, the true cost is largely hidden, they require vast areas of land (Unless at sea) the SNP cut down 16 million trees to make way for windfarms, and unlike coal power stations they are unreliable because they are totally dependent on the weather.

I'm not reading anything, RR. I don't need to. I know the subject. Two 500mW power stations makes a gigawatt not a megawatt. Hope that helps.

Sunak’s policies to attract the ‘motorist vote’:
- get rid of 20mph zones (speed with impunity) - get rid of ULEZ (pollute as much as you like) - max out North Sea oil and gas (boil the planet)
Vote Tory: Live fast, die young and take the rest of the world with you!
