A sort of Boris Johnson, but without the engaging disregard for truth... You think he told the truth to get elected Leader?.. I've no idea what Starmer said or promised to be elected leader — though I have to admit he's no Mr Personality!!!
But maybe that's what the electorate will go for after the state the UK is in after five high-profile leaders while the Tories have been in charge...

Society is in a complete mess, most of it caused by Tory government and Tory doctrine
They absolutely refuse to build large numbers of homes for rent, because it goes against Conservative ideology, people MUST own their own homes. Yet house prices have soared, mortgage interests rates have soared, and mortgages are beyond the reach of millions.
The only option is to rent ... but then the Tories have frozen Housing Benefit and made it restrictive. THE RESULT: Record high homelesness
When Labour become the government, they will not be in any position to fix all that is wrong with society in one go, or with a magic wand, because of the debt they will inherit, and high interest rates ruling borrowing out.
No political party committs to any policies until the Manifesto is published
Anything has got to be better than this

Given Labours dire record on house building the last time they were in power you cannot fault Sid's chutzpah..

So if you were a member of the Labour Party and had voted for the candidate at the last Leadership election who promised mass nationalisation of industry, would you feel happy or sad?

So if you were a member of the Labour Party and had voted for the candidate at the last Leadership election who promised mass nationalisation of industry, would you feel happy or sad? I’m not a Labour Party member and haven’t voted for any leader — but if I were a member I’d probably suggest any manifesto should be as short and succinct as Starmer’s ten promises, and not the long and detailed stodge of text of the 100-plus pages of the last manifesto. And being happy or sad if politicians change their minds, depends on context — I’ve never understood the criticism of politicians who change their minds when new data is presented or circumstances change. But I concede I might be disappointed if a pet policy I agreed with was thrown out…

Pehaps Labour are catholic, the Universal Party, and will represent anyone and everyone who sees anything to agree with in what Labour say and do and, maybe also, what Labour doesn't say and do... Fair point - we already know that Starmer always agrees with the last person he spoke to.. Readers know that you are so biased that most have a laugh at you posts.

People of intelligence know and knew, That once elected Starmer had to acknowledge the full picture, taking all its changes into account. 2020 was changing from a very different place to 2023. And Old Labour had just had their arse kicked.

Apart from u-turning on bringing the party together, scrapping tuition fees, scrapping two child cap, nationalisation, freedom of movement, £28b green plan, no new North Sea oil/gas, taxing the top 5% more... he has kept all his pledges lol.
Even the Big Issue are critising him ffs.

Have you noticed any difference in your personal life depending whether there's a Tory- or Labour-government?
