I told you how it was obvious. The fact that he surrounded himself by and was supported by all those who had never believed in the sort of policies he was pledging to. And those of us who knew he was lying have been proven right by events since he has done exactly what those around him wanted him to do and exactly what those of us who knew he was lying said he would do. If he pledges to do X, Y and Z supported by a bunch of people who are totally opposed to that and we conclude that he is therefore lying and is instead likely to do A, B and C instead which is what his supporters want, and lo and behold he ditches X, Y and Z and does A, B, and C instead, then that tends to show that those of us who knew he was lying all along have been proven right. Everything that we said he would do, based on the premise that he was lying to us, he has exactly done. So you can pretend he is as honest as Jesus if you like, but the less gullible and/or culpable amongst us know better. And were you in the party at the time? And were you privy to all the internal debates? If not, what do you know! If yes, are you one of the gullible ones who believed all his guff? Or did you support him because you knew he was lying too but were in favour of what he REALLY wanted to do? Or are you going to cop out and claim you supported Lisa Nandy or something? Did you even have a vote? Were you even a card carrying party member? You made the point that "It was obvious he did not intend to keep to his pledges" at the time of making the pledges, the only way you could make that claim is if he had said to you he was going to break his pledges, so you are making it up. I did not say he was honest, I have said I will wait and see his manifesto before making my mind up. Been telling anyone that would listen, Smarmer hasn't delivered on anything that he has stood for. The man is a shambles & will destroy the UK if given the chance. Every policy would cost a fortune as he would keep changing it!!!......Oh dear what a shame wooden top was left embarrassed whilst spilling out his usual inane ill thought out plans that he does change his mind on weeks later. The man would make a piece of funghi look interesting. He would make a horrendous PM, And has for his second in command what a frigging nightmare..
'Stop making U-turns Smarmer's big education speech descends into chaos as protesters get on to stage and berate him for breaking vows on green policies
Smarmer's big education speech descended into chaos today as protesters sneaked on to the stage and berated him over green policies.
The Labour leader was not far into his address in Kent when a man and a woman unfurled a banner behind him and then started interrupting.
Accusing Smarmer of reversing commitments on environmental policies, the man said: 'Stop making U-turns Keir.'
The disruption continued for several minutes as Smarmer pleaded with them to leave, before security came and ushered them away.

How could he deliver on anything? Is the mail the only paper you read? Anti-climate groups are disrupting everywhere, why is this such a big surprise or even newsworthy? You need to get out more Pathetico.

Running out of money? - sounds like the ideal time to have a Labour Government, after all they know all about that.. If the Tories and their supporters Knew all about money they would not make fools of themselves by posting insinuated lies, like your comment above

1. either that comment exposes your willingness to lie, or it exposes the depth of your stupidity. 2. O 3. More guesswork making you look like like an idiot. 4. Trying to convince yourself that you are normal doesn't work when you allow the Mail to do most of your thinking for you.

The last Labour government was in power for over ten years ( 1997 - 2007 ) running the country without excessive borrowing. It was a double whammy which caused not only Gordon Brown, but many leaders to turn to borrowing to prop up banks, support the economy, and protect businesses and people from the worst effects of both the financial crisis and the recession that followed. IF Labour win the next election, things are going to be tight financialy, but the priorities will be very different. Conservatives by their very nature are not interventionists, they believe more in The Free Market and Market Forces, but Keir Starmer is determined to influence economic growth, one of his pledges is to create the conditions to make growth in the UK the highest in the G7. Economic growth = increasing wealth, increasing revenue to the treasury Of course, Sid, Gordy sold the gold off and robbed the pension funds.

The Labour Party was in power for 13 years not ten , Gordon Brown was prewarned about the impending global financial meltdown and did nothing which he still denies, Labour not only had to borrow money he lost money selling off some of the nations gold reserves because he told the world in advance what he was going to do, the price of gold went down. They also used taxpayer money to bail out the Banks, but also went on a spending spree , when they lost the election the Treasury Coffers were empty they had spent that much, that is why we had years of austerity to fill them again, if that had not been done, Covid would have hit us even harder, which we are still trying to recover from, it will take years, my grandkids will be paying for it for years. If you read my post correctly, I made the point that before the financial crisis and recession, Labour ran the country without excessive borrowing, a period of ten years. No one was prewarned about the impending financial crisis, its origins were in the United States and governments in Europe first became aware of the looming crisis in early Summer 2007, it was Alistair Darling who first warned the country of a crisis on the horizon. Yes the Labour government did use tax payers money to support the banks, for which other governments and most economists PRAISED Gordon Brown for, including Nobel prize winning economist Paul Krugman in The New York Times. All of that money is now repaid back to the government - and at the time the Tories had no answers, except to criticise the government of the day. YES - the government at the time. led by Gordon Brown did go on a spending spree - to prop up the economy, help people, help business and support industry, these measures included the Car Scrappage Scheme and the Home Boiler Scheme. I suppose the Tories, if they had been in power, would have done what exactly ? ... Let the bank go bankrupt, let thousands of homes be reposessed, sit back and watch British industry go under. Like I stated ... the Tories at the time had no answers and they still dont I disagree on Brown he was he was in America at the time, but you have your opinion and I have mine

Some of us were evidently far less gullible than you and knew when we were being lied to.

"We cannot afford to nationalise everything" is a pragmatic change of mind. Can you not see the difference between a lie and common sense. You and your ilk would be all over him if he promised things we cannot afford but when he 'cuts his cloth' you call him a liar. That's just stupid.
