So I read this that you recognise that Kurds from Syria may have a legitimate claim for Asylum here but you do not feel that people from Albania do? Is this correct. If so in most cases i agree with you. There will be exceptions to both (eg an Albanian female here trafficked into the sex trade who escapes and is likely to face threats if she returns to Albania may have a case) but generally we are in the same place. No one is denying that among these illegal migrants there are genuine asylum/refugees, especially in Iraq/Syria, after all it was Blair who caused their plight with his illegal war, this is the fallout from it, so yes we do have a moral obligation to help 'genuine' refugee/asylum seekers.
What most of us are angry about is the plight of these genuine asylum/refugee victims are being abused by people traffickers and Albanian criminals, who have no legitimate claim for asylum, the fact the majority are fit, young healthy Albanian males, tells us our system is being used and abused. While we continue to let this happen the genuine people who are fleeing warn torn countries will be part of this illegal gang, who have no compassion whatsoever for these victims.
I think we are largely in agreement. As I read you you are happy for the UK to provide asylum to Kurds from Iraq and Syria but resent being asked to provide asylum to Albanians. You presumably recognise that their are no safe routes for Kurds to travel to the UK to claim that asylum so they are going to have to come by irregular means (eg boat) to do so. Subject to the exceptions I listed above, I broadly agree with you.

Out of interest do you think anyone from say Syria - having their homes destroyed by Turkey - has a legitimate claim for asylum or are they "thieving scum" I would imagine legitimate asylum seekers who are fleeing war torn countries and completely pissed off with the Albanian criminals, just like the people of the UK are.
These Albanian criminals who are not fleeing a war torn country are destroying any chance of these genuine asylum seekers have of making a decent life in the UK, because of them the UK has to use hotels, hostels, army barracks, ships, I am sure the refugees from Syria are hoping our government can stop them.
The UK government has an agreement with the Albanian government to sent Albanian nationals back to Albania. Using Albanians is a false narrative.

The UK government has an agreement with the Albanian government to sent Albanian nationals back to Albania. Using Albanians is a false narrative. I'll believe it when I see it. "Of the Albanian migrants who arrived in small boats in 2022, 95% arrived between May and October. The numbers were much lower in November, when 166 arrived and December, when 28 arrived. But that significant fall cannot be entirely due to the cooperation agreement between the UK and Albania because it was not signed until 13 December. No figures for arrivals broken down by nationality have yet been published for 2023. We have asked the Home Office for the figures to support the prime minister's claim but were told they would not be available until they are published in May. How many Albanians does the UK return? In the 12 months to end of September 2022, a total of 900 Albanians were removed from the UK, with another 469 returning voluntarily. Those are the most recent figures that have been published. Albanians represented the highest number of foreign offenders sent back in the year to September 2022. The Home Office says that since the announcement on 13 December, more than 500 illegal migrants have been returned to Albania, but those figures will not be published until August". BBC

Wouldn't it be funny if the EU got their scheme for deporting asylum seekers to Rwanda working before the UK does - that would give the FBPE crowd something to ponder..

BBC audience selection process working well... I stopped watching QT about ten years ago, in the main the Nick Griffin QT fiasco was the catalyst and then more and more I found I could not stomach the line that migration has enriched our country trotted out by almost every panel member and then cue the hearty and sustained clapping from the clearly selected audience. At one time it was an incisive political debating group now it is just a group arguing amongst themselves how best to manage what they have all agreed to do,

The UK government has an agreement with the Albanian government to sent Albanian nationals back to Albania. Using Albanians is a false narrative. I'll believe it when I see it. 8,000 Albanians, including both illegal migrants and foreign offenders, had been deported since [Sunak] announced a new agreement with the Edi Rama, the country's prime minister, in November last year.
Albanian criminals are being released from jail a year early and given £1,500 if they agree to be deported under a new deal negotiated with the Balkan state.
The early release and resettlement grant is on condition that the criminals agree not to appeal their deportation back to Albania.
They are warned that if they return to the UK without permission, they will be immediately returned to jail to serve the remaining time of their sentence in a British prison.

Well that sound more like it.
Ask them nicely ... pretty please ... pretty pretty please can you leave the UK
We know you are illegal criminal Albanian's who have no legal right to be here in the first place.
We'll give you £1,500 if you agree.... please
Yeah ok we'll agree..
once we get the cash, and you kick us out, we'll be on the next dinghy back to the UK.
Wow who had that fantastic brainwave.
LOL

The £1500 is for early-release Albanian prisoners — this seems a better deal for the UK than spending the estimated £169,000 per migrant sent to Rwanda.
Plus, unlike the Rwanda deportation proposal, the scheme appears to be working if the Telegraph report is accurate...

Democracy in action...who could object? I think this is a good idea, let's settle the 'debate' once and for all. It will be interesting to see the different 'lines' taken by the protagonists. It is, though another divisor tactic from the Tories and will never happen, soundbite.
