Would it be too much to expect the government now to pause, take stock and for once actually try to address the real world issue rather than simply producing gimmicks designed to engender positive tabloid headlines and fish for the votes of those who read them.
1) Develop safe routes for claimants to claim asylum without the danger (and cost to all) of crossing the channel by alternative means 2) Invest the money that would have been wasted on Rwanda on staff to determine cases quickly 3) Review the criteria against which determination of cases is made to ensure it is robust 4) restrict appeals against rejections to one an d hear that appeal quickly 5) remove failed claimants promptly 6) Work with European allies to develop a common asylum policy and procedures
Instead of that no doubt the government and its allies will impugn the integrity of the judges who have made this decision and double down on noisily creating hatred and fear of people in need of help while failing to do the boring unglamorous job of addressing the fundamental issues.

How can I twist "I think they should be fingerprinted and DNA profiled at the point they are found on EU soil and told very firmly at that point they have the right to apply for asylum to the state in which they now stand, b ut if they move on from there then they have no rights at all".The human rights act is quite plain in it's statement that asylum seekers do not have to stay in the first 'safe country' they arrive in, EU countries have enough of a problem dealing with asylum seekers that want to stay there. "Now i understand it is hard for the left leaning twats who think every piece of shit trying to sneak into the UK should be welcomed" this is just a raving line of lies and shows you up for what you undoubtably are. No one knows why they would want to come to the UK but there are a myriad of reasons possible but none of that matters to the right because they believe that asylum seekers are somehow subhuman as your rant clearly shows that you do. for the last fucking time they ate not fucking asylum seekers they are coming here for the money Are there, in your opinion then then, any people who are actually seeking asylum? Have you asked any of them?

Show me on person that has said "they should be given homes, money and help whilst our own homeless have to make do with a tent in the local park". Have you got a mirror wonky? That's a resounding no then.😂

Apparently it costs £170,000 to deport someone to Rwanda. This may or may not be true but it's plainly irrelevant. Why is it that the Left simply cannot understand that the whole point of the scheme is that it will DETER migrants from coming. If we could guarantee that all migrants would be deported to Rwanda then the small boats would stop coming. We know that because Australia did this (deporting to Papua New Guinea) and the boats stopped. The plans to move alleged Asylum Seekers to Rwanda have gone on hold again, the Court of Appeal has ruled it unlawful

Braverman knew it. She even wrote it in the introduction. The whole thing is just for show.
As FS says, not a surprise.

They need to stop wasting more and more of tax payers money on migrant plans that the government know wont be passed.
They have some of the best legal teams money can buy, who should tell them from the get-go 'It will fail'.
It's bad enough we are wasting tax payers money on these illegal migrants, and it's just rubbing salt in the wound wasting even more of tax payers money on doomed solutions.

for the last fucking time they ate not fucking asylum seekers they are coming here for the money Are there, in your opinion then then, any people who are actually seeking asylum? Have you asked any of them? Well there’s the twenty odd people i know personally through their grandfather(s) being chucked out of Uganda by Idi Amin for a start. But maybe they don’t entirely count because at the time they arrived in the UK with hardly any money and their home in Uganda blown up by Idi’s forces they actually had passports proclaiming them as British as me. Each said exactly what mine did, that we were British Subjecd and Cutizens of The United Kingdom and Colonies Through a woman who used to design helicopter gunship aiming software i met three Afghan men and their families two of whom worked as Translators for the British in Helmand and one who used his degree in medicine there. All three had to get out a bit quick when we buggered off and left it to the taliban i’d call them genuinely in fear of their lives thanks to the intent of the incoming administration to hunt them down and behead them. Also twenty Ukranians who git the hell out when their homes were taken out by that charming Wagner Group. Some orchestra they were. So yes actually. Bet that pisses you off that i know some people whose right to call on this country for help because we signed up to do the decent thing is being undermined by thieving scum who think they can get in by burning their id and pretending to have a case.

Out of interest do you think anyone from say Syria - having their homes destroyed by Turkey - has a legitimate claim for asylum or are they "thieving scum"

These Albanian criminals who are not fleeing a war torn country are destroying any chance of these genuine asylum seekers have of making a decent life in the UK, because of them the UK has to use hotels, hostels, army barracks, ships, I am sure the refugees from Syria are hoping our government can stop them.

For once I actually agree with you, but would add that Braverman WAS told by her lawyers that it wouldn't succeed. She added a proviso to the forward to say that she couldn't guarantee it was legal, but decided to waste money on it anyway. I just hope this government goes before they waste even more money on a Supreme Court appeal.

So I read this that you recognise that Kurds from Syria may have a legitimate claim for Asylum here but you do not feel that people from Albania do? Is this correct. If so in most cases i agree with you. There will be exceptions to both (eg an Albanian female here trafficked into the sex trade who escapes and is likely to face threats if she returns to Albania may have a case) but generally we are in the same place.

Out of interest do you think anyone from say Syria - having their homes destroyed by Turkey - has a legitimate claim for asylum or are they "thieving scum" I think the problem with Syria is the complexity of the relationship between its ruler and Putin, its use by ISIS, and its use as a migration route for a lot of people But the point i made, to which your question above is utterly irrelevant, is that anyone, no matter who they are or where where they are from, should be processed in the first country in which they arrive where the state has declared its willingness to provide protections as defined under UNHCR treaties to those declaring themselves in need of those protections. Greece complained that it did not have the funds and infrastructure to do this in the face of endless boats arriving and dumping a sea of people on its shores and my response to that is that the EU - and that includes us because at the time we were in it - should have bloody well given Greece the funds and people to handle the issue rather than let them march up the beach and wherever they wanted.
Had this been enforced, the people the authorities determined met the criteria of refugee from conflict or seeker of protection from persecution would have been identified and handed documentation that would have permitted them passage to any of the EU countries entirely legally, and the rejects, well they could be thrown back in the fucking sea for all i care. But no, the scheming bastard EU allowed the masses to invade knowing sheer weight of numbers, and messages sent on the free iphones, would ensure the next wave arrived

Well no John. That wasn't the point you made. Hence why you regard Ukrainians as valid refugees where the first safe country they could get to is likely to be Poland.
As has been stated may times the first safe country argument is not the law.
I do agree with what I read as your underlying argument. It would be far better if we established safe routes for people to claim asylum. I agree it would be better if they reported a claim for asylum in greece and then were transported safely to an appropriate European country to hear their claim with numbers allocated fairly to each European country. We (and other countries) didn't want to do that

No one is denying that among these illegal migrants there are genuine asylum/refugees, especially in Iraq/Syria, after all it was Blair who caused their plight with his illegal war, this is the fallout from it, so yes we do have a moral obligation to help 'genuine' refugee/asylum seekers.
What most of us are angry about is the plight of these genuine asylum/refugee victims are being abused by people traffickers and Albanian criminals, who have no legitimate claim for asylum, the fact the majority are fit, young healthy Albanian males, tells us our system is being used and abused. While we continue to let this happen the genuine people who are fleeing warn torn countries will be part of this illegal gang, who have no compassion whatsoever for these victims.
