Lockdown was a precaution NOT instigated by politicians, most of whom know F all about epidemiology or infection control. Lockdowns across the world were instigated by men and women of science.
Common sense SHOULD tell you that if an elderly person is isolated from close human contact, then that person is far less likely to contract Covid19 which could kill that person. Same applies to sick, ill or vulnerable people.
Lockdowns prevented people from contracting Covid, they prevented many deaths, and they held back and slowed the rapid spread of Covid until a vaccine was produced.
To put it in a nutshell - I would not trust Boris Johnson as far as I could throw him, but I do know for certain that a man like Chris Whitty knows what he is talking about.

Covid has mutated people are still being hospitalized and it is still killing about 30 people a week, It's negligible when 10,000 people die each week in England. Deaths are about 3.4% above the average. It's time we stopped focussing on the 30 and started focussing on the 322 excess deaths each week It depends if one of the 30 is a relative or a friend of yours that is one of the thirty or not , of course people die all the time some very young some very old , it is luck of the draw no matter what we do or no matter how hard the NHS try

If so, you've really missed my point in bold.

No, I just made my point and showed 3 examples of people ignoring medical experts for political gain. Two of whom were booted out of office at the next opportunity showing it was not a successful political strategy in the end anyway. No, you just ignored facts to make a political non-point - exactly as you accused others of doing. And now you're adopting the increasingly common lefty trait of repeating the same proven untruths on an endless loop as if they'll somehow come true through repetition. Goodness me, you mean they are learning the bad habits of Righties after all these years.

I'm just quoting government figures from April 2023.

It goes to show what a complete prick you are - Chris Whitty is a very highly qualified epidemiologist, a scientist, a man who is highly respected. You on the other hand would rather support a man who knows absolutely fuck all, a liar, a cheat, a man with no integrity what so ever (proven) - Boris Johnsion.

The lockdowns were ineffective because:
1) We were too slow to lockdown. 2) We did not put a proper pause on foreign travel, in or out, in response to the virus. 3) There was no quarantining. 4) We were too quick to drop the safety measures and ended up in a yo yo situation.

Just name one thing that your hero whitty got correct fiddler? FFS if we had of carried on listening to that uniformed arsehole we would still be in frigging lockdown. Which BTW sir kneel-a-lot supported.
EDIT whitty is just another lefty woke arsehole. He is not respected and what bit of integrity and respect he had in the field of science was lost over his bullshit over covid.
