The right wing of the Tory Party would like a return of the "traditional family" where father went off to work and arrived home in the evening to be greeted by his loyal wife with dinner in the oven. Then father can sit in his armchair, smoking his pipe listening to The Archers. At this weeks "National Conservatism Conference" in London, MP Danny Kruger said that "The truth is that the normative family - held together by marriage, by mother and father sticking together for the sake of the children and the sake of their own parents and for the sake of themselves - this is the only possible basis for a safe and successful society" I wonder if these out of date idiots will propose the reintroduction of Dinosaurs or the building of Fred Flinstone Cars

If you want to beat the Tories you need policies Sid. Starmer doesn't seem to have much at the moment.

As far as I can see Starmer has disclosed the following policies,
Making going on strike easier. Compulsory working from home. A four day week for those choosing to work. Rejoining the EU. Banning smoking. Increasing immigration.
We will see how the electorate greets these ambitions.

And there's gender self determination. Don't forget that. All good, vote winning stuff!

I mean he would get my vote if we did, but I'm pretty sure you just made that up.

Neither of your links reveal that Starmer has disclosed that we are rejoining the EU. You appear to have a reading deficiency.
And please stop the name calling. It's demeaning.

The DM have just gone full-on Voice Of CCHQ over Mr Starmer.
In their panic, they're trying to portray him as the lovechild of Jeremy Corbyn and Pol Pot.
It all falls apart, however, the moment anyone realises that he's never actually said ANYTHING about "rejoining the EU" or, indeed, any of the imaginary "policy decisions" they impute.
Meanwhile, of course, a REAL breaking scandal - the suspected Tory development shenanigans on Teeside - gets zero coverage in the rag.
It'll only get worse as the Election gets closer..

Since when has politics been any different? meanwhile everybody actually admits for their own differing opinions on the reasons why, that we are all fecked, strange but true, that nice Mr Starmer will fix it all, but wait they say that every time there is an election. With meaningless statements, such as things can only get better, which of course they never do.

Starmer said yesterday he wants the UK to have a "closer trading relationship with the EU" - of course, this being Starmer, he didn't specify what shape this closer relationship would take. Given the wide coverage of the existing WA, then anything that resembles a significantly closer relationship will involve at the least rejoining the Single Market and quite possibly the Customs Union. If you are intent on joining both of those again then rejoining the whole shooting match is the logical choice.
