Anne Widdecombe ... I love her. Yes. That business about wanting pregnant women prisoners handcuffed to hospital beds while they gave birth was just SO adorable.. A honest lady, who speaks out honestly, unlike the lefty hypocrites who say one thing and do another, prime example Starmer, I'd rather have a honest enemy than a false friend.

well i posted the o/p as a bit of light hearted relief away from the problems across the disunited kingdoms. That EU flag sure does wind some people up though.
Back to the serious business though , i see the anti rishi stories are coming thick and fast at the minute....
whats interesting in light of the perceived betrayal of brexit , the worsening state of the uk economy , labour now leading the tories in the polls in terms of trust on every subject bar ukraine , and with a general election looming in the near future , are the knives being sharpened for the tories unelected and previously rejected prime minister?
Im reading nearly 60 tory mps are getting ready to hand in letters of No confidence , with more alleged to be thinking about joining them?
To be honest I'm starting to wonder if the Tories actually want to win the next GE, because all indications are looking that way.
They can't keep swapping and changing Prime Ministers every five minutes, and to think we are going to have Starmer/Labour running the country all because the Tories have handed it to them on a plate, the only opposition in history to win a GE without one single policy to their name, the worst leader and shadow cabinet ever in a Labour opposition, to think they could win by doing absolutely nothing apart from lapping up the Tories self-destruction.
heres latest poll from redfield...

Doesn't make good reading tom, the Tories need to get their act together ... and quickly. i dont think they can to be honest fair. Its still hard to predict the next uk general election , but increasingly the tories at the minute look out of the picture. I see today energy firms (british gas) announcing record profits due to major profiteering and robbery of consumers , while the uk economy looks to be tanking under the weight of the cost of living , and interest rate increases.
I think unless sunak can pull the rabbit out the tory head office hat , they are in massive trouble. The public arent going to take much more of this economic doom and gloom.

I'm still scratching my head wondering why Sunak gave millions of tax payers money to pay themselves £67 to help towards their fuel bills.
The tax payers are propping up the energy companies so it doesn't hit their profits, and we have to pay all of this back, high energy costs are one reason inflation is so high, food prices are the same, lots of companies profiteering off the backs of hard working people, there are laws in place to stop this happening, but like everything else nothing is getting done.
The most important thing is the roof over people's heads, and these interest rate rises are the last straw for some people, once people start to lose their homes, they've got nothing to lose, and we'll be back to the riots of the 80s.

to be fair mate , im the same.
What exactly is really going on here? A lot of what we are seeing makes no sense .
Its almost as if they are determined to ruin the economy , trash whats left of their reputation and hand victory to someone who i consider the worst oppostion leader in modern uk political history.

Well here's food for thought, maybe that is the grand plan to trash the economy, and there are no prizes for guessing who's behind it, the Remoaners.
Teaching us a lesson for leaving the EU, this is our punishment, and the more they pile on us the more we'll be brainwashed in to thinking it's all the fault of Brexit.
Let's have another referendum so we can vote to go back to our illustrious EU, all the bad things happening now will go away, unfortunately it's a cross party plot, because there are as equally those who are bitter who are in the Tories, and they don't care if they bring down the Tory party or not, they would rather let Starmer/Davey in power if it meant a new referendum.

perhaps. We are seeing all sorts of theories ....some make sense others dont , but only time will tell. Sturgeons resignation , the tories commiting suicide , the general state of uk politics in general. cant make head nor tail of it all.

Eurovision IS a European event, it is not a British event Europe and the European Union are two very different things, and as much as it'd like to, the European union does not speak for Europe. In any case its just an event organised by a private membership organisation, namely the European Broadcasting Union, which is made up of a bunch of public service broadcasters who banded together to further their own interests. Its not nothing to do with the European Union. It is a membership organisation of over 100 institutions across 56 countries, and with a further 30 associate members across the world. Still, Eurovision has always been hugely political so even if this flag waving thing is true who gives a shit, It be strange if there were not some sort of political shenanigans in play. Eurovision is an annual example of how corrupt European nations can be, and a reminder of why entering into a political union with any of them is a terrible idea.

Let me see, they hold Eurovision in the UK and hand out EU flags, as though we could forget the Brussels mafia that quickly anyway.

Two of those are members of the EBU, and Australia pay into the song contest kitty, because that country is mad for it. I'm still waiting for Vatican City to make good on their membership dues and send an entry along.

Every member state of the European Union is a member of the European Broadcast Union, and the European Union represents most of Europe. More importantly is the fact that the flag of the EU is actually and originally the flag of the Council of Europe, which includes EVERY European state. The flag of the EU is regularly and frequently used as a symbol of freedom, hope and aspiration in oppressive countries, such as Belarus, Russia and also in Ukraine. THe Union Flag represents a fading power.
