I say again, every single illegal who lands on an English beach came from the 'safe' EU state of France. And, as I've said before: We should pursue a legal remedy vs the EU since they are not complying with their own immigration laws by allowing illegals into the EU in the first place. I agree, but you know, I know, we all know it's not going to happen. The EU/Macron refuse to stop illegals crossing the channel because the UK must be punished for Brexit.

Punished for Brexit or treated like the enemy you so want us to be. ZG, what do you think the EU/French reaction would be if tens of thousands of immigrants from the UK landed on a French beach? Do you think the EU/French authorities would be sympathetic and understanding and immediately accommodate them in hotels at taxpayers expense? Or do you think the EU/French authorities would be extremely angry and demand the ECtHR take immediate action against the British government for allowing people to put to sea in flimsy craft and not policing their own borders. Come on ZG, this isn't a tricky question, although I accept you may struggle with it.

You tried that one before Red. It was debunked that time too. The answer remains the same.
The vast majority of people claiming asylum in France and the much smaller number who pass through France to claim asylum in the UK have all entered France from different European countries. The French government have not complained to the ECHR in any way. Of course they wouldn't. They understand that people claiming asylum are permitted under international law to enter countries by irregular means in order to do so.

That is why they should be vetted on EU territory, thousands either don't claim asylum or don't win their cases.

Virtually no one arrives by small boat and doesnt claim asylum, Toreador. The problem of how to stop illegal immigration is a very different issue to the issue of asylum.
In respect of asylum, I partially agree with you. Lets stop trying to develop an asylum policy to suit the tabloids and Farage and instead be grown up. Negotiate a deal with France that we establish an asylum reporting point in Calais, bring those people over the channel safely, accommodate them in appropriate accommodation while their claim is heard, expect them to work while their claim is heard, speed up claims processing, the quid pro quo of the deal with France is that if their claim is rejected, we return the failed claimant to France.

Dappy's co-operation plan is basically to assure anyone who gets to France, further safe passage to the UK.
He doesn't care.

What does capitalism have to do with child labour? I'm not surprised you have to ask, even though it was spelt out loud and clear in my earlier post. The answer is in Unbridled Capitalism. I do not understand the concept, as per it seems both a metaphor and an oxymoron.
Capitalism and wild horses have very little in common.

Talking about the NHS I would like to see all NHS care for private medical care patients stopped There should be greater supervision of separation between private and NHS work and facilities. But it should be recognised that some procedures can be provided more quickly and economically and to alleviate demand to the NHS by private establishments — eg, cataract, some ENT, and minor orthopaedic work…

Come on ZG, this isn't a tricky question, although I accept you may struggle with it. I think the UK press has been insulting the French and the EU for years, even before Brexit. I think Brexit demonstrated to them that these insults were not the minority but the majority. Calling them Fascists, Nazis unelected bureaucrats and anything else you fancied while expecting them to help you out. You must be nuts. I think Boris in a bid to be popular with Brexiters went on with the same insults. Then you turn up and say 'Why aren't our neighbours doing more to help us, It would be funny if it wasn't so damaging. So your question to me is back to front. I don't think the French authorities would be at all surprised if our efforts were desultory, had they treated us like we have treated them.

Not originally. They are not EU citizens. Totally irrelevant. The almighty illegal immigrant cock-up in Europe is entirely the fault of the EU. I say again, every single illegal who lands on an English beach came from the 'safe' EU state of France. Not originally. They are not EU nationals. So our presence within or withdrawal from the EU has made bugger all difference to them.

So our presence within or withdrawal from the EU has made bugger all difference to them. perhaps its time the world got together to deal with the rising illegal immigration problem once and for all. Dealing with it at a centralised state level alone , or even continent level as part of the eu seemed fraught with difficulties.
There needs to be a fair and frank discussion on immigration that at present cannot be had in any sensible manner without blaming racism or old enemies etc etc.
some areas of the uk need more immigration , so perhaps regional or country level could be allowed to adopt immigration laws specific for their area tailored to suit their needs?
Its a complex issue no doubt , but for sure certainly isnt working in or out of the EU and seems to be world wide in terms of problems.
