Yes Vinny the French can solve this at Dover, they do it on purpose IMHO It seems we have always had this problem with the French. The only rational response left being to escalate the pettiness further...and so on. Like living next door to someone who doesn't like you and has severe developmental problems Its and Englishman's Duty to hate the French

Actually - no we were not Sorry Sid, you are totally out of touch. We have been co-operating with other aircraft manufacturers in different countries around Europe since the early 1960's making Military and Civil aircraft - the EU had not even been conceived at that time. FFS we were not even members of the EEC!.

Indeed, the French could increase the number of immigration officers and counters at the ports. Or, they could just wave British tourists through as though the UK was still a member of the EU. But they do not have to do it to accommodate travellers from non-EU countries. We're a third country now and since it is us complaining about very long queues, then the issue is ours not theirs. We should learn to organise our trips to France around Brexit. Ditch that spur-of-the-moment trip to France mentality! I know what the EU define as a "third country", i.e. one not in the EU "circle of trust" but I see you using it as if it is a slight on the UK. As far as the UK is concerned, we might be a "third country" to the EU, but we honestly are a "first country" when it comes to so many world organisations. Incidentally, try to organise trips to France avoiding the fires, rubber bullets and the like. I do not know if this "circle of trust" does exist but I do know that "third country" in the EU context is a formal and technical term that refers to any country that is not an EU member or not part of the Single Market and Customs Union. To avoid confusion, I should have written it with the first letter of the words capitalised as in Third Country or Single Market or Customs Union. My bad. I do not take offence, personally or otherwise, at being labelled a Third Country. I just stated the fact to highlight the reality that we no longer enjoy the benefits of EU membership. Rubber bullets and fires aren't Brexit related, but yup, we must learn to organise our trips in such a way that we avoid creating Brexit queues at the ports. Soon they will be requiring us to produce travel authorisation. More red tape.

The forum finally accepts the hyphen.
