Despite a world population of 40 million Scottish people, only 5.45 million Scots live in Scotland. The devolved Sturgeon Reich and its supporters says Scotland needs immigrants. What can it do to entice Scots back / discourage emigration ?

I suspect that there are more Scots living in England than live in Scotland, and it is quite understandable why that might be.
If there was an effective administration that brought back education standards, non politicised Police and Judiciary, a functioning NHS, an effective drug and alcohol programme, a transport system that worked and a free press then some of them might return.
The FM in waiting has expressed in no uncertain terms his outrage at all the top jobs being held by white people, so expect an influx from the Punjab quite soon to boost the population.

It's hard to find a current figure for this, but back in 2014, the number of Scots living in England was at 750,000, so it's hard to believe that number has swelled to exceed the population of Scotland in just 9 years. www.bbc.com/news/uk-27655496It's certainly true that some Scots emigrate, as people do all over the world, in order to improve their lot and it may well be that better government would lower these emigration figures. However, ScotGov's authority is constrained by Westminster. Since Westminster is not interested in developing or promoting Scotland, it seems only independence will allow the Scots full control and authority over their own affairs. In the meantime, it's not all doom and gloom for Scotland as you often paint it. sure pacifico. I appreciate scotland has a colder and wetter climate than england overall , but scotland is three fifths the size of england , and just like england , differeing areas have micro climates.
For example Oban in north west scotland has less frost on average than south east England due to the atlantic current , Glasgow tends to be wetter and milder than many english cities to the south , Inverness drier than many english cities , and so on.
I dont think the weather "stereotype " explains the fall in popualtion over the centuries as a percentage of England do you when you conisder many countires with harsher climates , for example the scandinavian , have bigger popualtions that have grown better than scotlands has.

I suspect that there are more Scots living in England than live in Scotland, and it is quite understandable why that might be. As a percentage of the popualtion , the only credible way to compare , there is a higher percentage of english people in scotland , than scottish in england.
I wonder what could be attracting them , and why so many english people flee england to live in countries like scotland , france , spain and many many more?

During the years 1979 - 1999 , one million scots fled scotland , coinciding largely with the devastation wreaked on scotland by the then tory party thatcher/major administration. One fifth of our popualtion who fled scotland for a better life.
Highly educated children graduated from school , and had to leave to find work such was the dismall prospect under tory rule prior to devolution. The equivalent of some 11 million or so english fleeing england over a twenty year period.
You look at old pictures for example of glasgow on facebook over the decades , and you see a prospering bustling city over the fifties and sixties , then the rot set in and from the late seventies and eighties , as the famour pictures of the french photographer raymond depardon show , my city looked like a burnt out world war two city in eastern europe.
The rot was stopped to a degree during the years of recovery and devolution , but only complete control of our country via independence can totally reverse the problems we have with our demography.
This is the same country that halved irelands popualtion from 1800 to 1900 , totally oblivious of the effects their union has on the celtic periphery .
Bear in mind that irelands popualtion was at one time on a par with englands.

so what are you saying om.....that the union has been a calamity for the citizens of scotland and glasgow in particular?
We had the labour party in charge of glasgow for 80 years , and they took glasgow from the second city of empire to a burnt out wreck , where labour politicians boasted that glasgow had the lowest life expectancy in the western world.
Are you trying to imply three hundred and sixteen years of union , where your countires parliament has largely controlled glasgow and scotland , under your political parties and elite , and all the problems that has bestowed , is the fault of 24 years of devolution , where the majority of the levers of the economy is still in the hands of your country , along with immigration and much else ?
Further of that 316 years , then 24 years , the snp have run scotland 16 years , of which the first 4 as a minority administration , now in partnership with the greens , and glasgow in particular only kicked labour out of the local council in 2017?
so to recap , according to om who once lived in a farm in rural scotland locked away from the natives , scotlands ills are the fault
1. of devolution , where holyrood has run scotland in part 7 % of the union?
2. The snp , which has been in charge of holyrood 5 % of the union?
3. Glasgow city council , where labour ran it 26 % of the union , and is now in no overal control run by an snp leadership since 2017?

Many of the overall scottish drug deaths are the climax of years of abuse , where many of these people were hooked on hard drugs in the grand old days of the union prior to devolution.
On top of that , while health is devolved , dealing with many of the issues related to drugs is not , and the scottish government do not have a free hand to deal with this problem as they see fit.
Some good news though red , is that the alcohol minimum price that the scottish gvernment brought in , much to westmisnters fury , has been responsible for a drop in 13 % of scotland alcohol realted deaths according to recent figures.
Just shows what you can do for our nations health when you have a few wee powers. Imagine what we could do if we had total independence?

There are more people of scots descent in north carolina than scotland itself , but no one i know is advocating them having a vote in scottish politics.

Scotland spends far more than taxes provide it. And yet, of the 40 million Scots, most do not live in Scotland. Mass transport tech has given them the freedom to live elsewhere (very few live in the EU). In the USA over six million Scots live there despite no access to healthcare or free University...
What can the devolved Scottish Reich do to encourage Scots to come back, boost the numbers and give Scotland the workers the xenophobic anti English SNATs say it needs?
