Its like arguing you are gullible if medical experts tell you smoking is bad for you and want to ban tobacco.
We have a wide range of experts both from within and without scotland supporting this , backed up with favourable data showing its working. Surely saving lives from cheap alcohol abuse among the poorest in society cant be a bad thing?
I bet you were angry when they banned smoking in the pubs too pacifico?

This thread is about what Scotland can do, if it needs to build up the population, to attract some of the 40 million Scots in the world back to the SNP Reich.

Tell that to the government of your own country. Why does england need circa 850 plus lords in its upper chamber on top of the 650 in its commons? A tiny country making up a mere 40 % of the uk landmass , off the coast of europe , with the second largest legislature in the entire world.
Included in that is something like 26 bishops of england church , making england and iran the only two nations in the entire world with clerics in a legislature.
Before lecturing us scots about our own parliament , which 75% of scots voters supported by referendum , perhaps you should start the pruning in your own parliament first.
yeah...I couldn't agree more. Unfortunatley that just reinforces my view. I'm still less than convinced that the quality of a majority of MSPs are more akin to a bunch of parish councillors playing The Sims - (Holyrood Edition) by transporting their own crazy views of reality into creating their own little fantasy world inhabited by real people rather than avatars. |

Having said that , when you cast your eye over your countries parliament at westmisnter , lets be honest here , are you telling me the quality of brit nat politicians is any better? Johnson? Starmer? sunak? Rayner?
I have disagreed with , but admired politically many british politicians over the years. I can honestly say i cant think of one british politician in that parliament of yours that i can say is an admirable adversary.

Now , when we try and do something with the limited devolved powers we have , you moan its ineffectual and that we musnt bring in minimum alcohol pricing?

What exactly do you mean by that? Currently the Scots receive 30% more per person funding than others in the rest of UK, this situation if reversed would create howls of rage, but for some reason the English don't seem to mind and the Scots seem to think that it isn't enough.
