Just like putin is china's poodle now. Makes me laugh really, like China actually need Putin, he's become a useful idiot, how the mighty have fallen.
Shame because maybe somewhere in Putin warped mind he had a point, but it's been lost in his quest for world supremacy.
You are making judgments on the man as a consequence of listening to a load of British lies and propaganda. The one thing President Putin is certainly not is stupid, and neither is his friend President Xi Jinping.
I wish people on here would seek the truth. Also I'm rather put off by the constant association in people's minds between Christians and bad stuff. It's more distortion in my view. People are not balanced in their minds. They don't collect all the evidence for one thing, and trust people on how good they sound.
Finally I'd like to say the evidence of the hell on earth experienced by the wicked is all around us. Before WW1 we were a serious Christian society and we were prospering. Now we are the opposite and let many churches go to ruin, we see our country collapse. Woke has replaced Christian values like a virus in the system. It's running the wrong code.

I think there may be those wh have that opinion of you and as to "before WW1", how long before or do you think Christianity had always been great?

The church was the institution that started off the development which is the modern life you lead today. before the church got going in Britain it was anarchy and total disorder. The country could only sustain a very small population. It was around the 11th century where the church became the first academic institution, which would go on to to create all the science and technology we have today. Meanwhile over in Africa, they never did this. It was us and the Europeans.

A onetime major abbey was badly burnt and most of its records destroyed. So the monks set about rewriting them but missing out all the bad bits and the scandals.

There is much evidence that travellers came and went throughout the length of the country and trade proliferated even to the Continent. The Churches were built on the waymarkers of the old straight tracks so the church tended to overlie the old order but there was order before the church.

Not after the end of the Roman Empire there was not. This country went through a period of regression. What happened when the church established itself was it archived as many classical texts as it could get its hands on and monks would copy them by hand. Once they understood all that was known from Ancient Greece and Rome they worked to extent the knowledge, and in particular was the study of Logic.
You don't get to hear about any of this on the BBC or in the Daily Mail. I studied it myself from books. I really get sick of the system denigrating the church. I suppose all you lot will find something to put it down now. Anyway, just in case anyone has an open mind, this is what got us out of the Dark Ages. We were blessed then so we moved forwards, but now our country is mainly interested in enacting all the stuff the bible forbids. It is paying the price.

Huh all I said was it was not anarchy and disorder as the few historical records show. There is a clear line in Scottish history as to the order and the rule that existed in Scotland from the end of the Roman Empire. I assume the same applies in England.

There is a clear line in Scottish history as to the order and the rule that existed in Scotland from the end of the Roman Empire. I assume the same applies in England. Sorry but you are wrong and one can even see it in the change in architecture as the church started to become influential. The church brought peace and prosperity.
People are so anti-Christian these days and their are a lot of distortions they peddle in our history and omissions too.
The church was also skilled in architecture. In building these huge cathedrals of the 11th century they pushed the boundaries of technology in spanning larger areas. Lincoln cathedral was the first time a man-made structure rose higher than the pyramids. That's right in our back yard. We were ahead of the entire world. Another architectural ecclesiastical world record exists in Cambridge for the largest single spanning area in the world at that time.
Now look at our stupid selves. We no longer believe in the faith as a society, so how many technical world records do we hold now? Seriously, our new engineers have brains of mush. Nothing works, everything is delayed. We can't even build a bloody railway. 2040 is the new date for HS2 to be complete, albeit far scaled down for the original plan. We have to get the French and Chinese in to show us how to build a commercial nuclear power station that we invented! Everyone is cheating everyone else and today our PM is on trial for lying.
