We may accidentally find out that football commentators are very much a hangover from the days of radio
If you are into football and know about it, do you really need someone jabbering in your ear to enjoy it?

I read a lot of the DM and DE reader comments, most of them said (one in particular tickled me) MOTD was far more watchable without jug ears LOL

We may accidentally find out that football commentators are very much a hangover from the days of radio If you are into football and know about it, do you really need someone jabbering in your ear to enjoy it? I rarely watch football, I'm a racing man and it'd no different on ITV racing where they spend so much time waffling on about possibilities and probabilities whilst this old fellow spends two to three hours studying for, writes his betting slip out and lays his money out; rarely do not get some return even though I may have lost money and I often win money, sometimes £2 or £3 and sometimes up to £100 or more. Most professional tipsters lose. The best vocal entertainment on ITV racing is the Paddy Power talking horse advert, it's worth watching and no better time than the four day top meeting at Cheltenham from Tuesday this week.

I'm not a sports watcher, but I think, if I were in charge of sports coverage, I would be looking into ways to change the format a bit. I find it hard to believe many sports fans are that enamoured by the long sitting in chairs chats. I would be experimenting with ways to make the viewer feel like they were at the event rather than receiving a second-hand description of it.

Well at least the "experts" stand and even walk a long way to commentate. Some are knowledgable, some entertaining but tomany are prats.

Most licence fee payers aren't the slightest bit interested in football or the overpaid presenters, the BBC has to take notice of the many not the few, and the many of us want him gone, he's well past his sell-by date, and I don't want any part of my licence fee going towards some political mouthpiece who is using the BBC as a platform as a political activist.

Lineker is just an overpaid prick and his wealth insulates him from reality. Fuck the beeb the sooner people ditch their stitchup license fees the better.... If they do relent to lineker put him on late on a sunday night and for just 10 minutes until his contract expires....I am not a footy fan but I have heard people talking in the pubs who would have far more talent amd knowledge as sport presenters than jug ears will ever have.

It's a funny old world.

Because the Home Secretary made a fuss of his Tweet. Maybe you should ask why we are talking about Lineker rather than her doomed to failure assault on human rights.

But members of the UKSSR minded individuals may not know that.

Exactly, he's money for old rope, MOTD needs fresh young blood, not some dreary boring old fart, he even brings his own personal football preferences in to his commentating, he can't even be impartial in football presenting. Jug ears days are numbered, it's up to the BBC to decide who is more important, some overpaid overrated political mouthpiece, or the Licence fee paying public.
