I've never claimed to be an expert. I think the notion that I am is from your mind, but all the same I take the compliment if that is how you see me. To me it is more a recent interest. We can talk about the Italian renaissance if you like. I used to have a similar interest in that time and place or perhaps the Arts and Crafts movement of 19th century Britain, another interest I used to have. I apologise if I gave the impression that I thought that you were an expert on China . I was pointing out that you seem to think that you have a great deal of knowledge about China when your only experience of China is talking to Chinese people online . I don’t think that you have a clue about China tbh. You are showing you lack of finesse. Surely there is a range of possibilities between "great deal of knowledge" and "don't have a clue"? Again I've never said I have a great deal of knowledge. I say what I do know, but you take that to be a great deal of knowledge, which I don't consider it to be. My point is one of the mass media-educated British moron has a complete lack of knowledge where I feel I've at least mastered the basics. I use the knowledge I do have to help those with less knowledge learn more. I would be grateful if someone else who had more knowledge than I did on a subject and imparted that to me, but what I now understand is the ignorance is self-inflicted. The media has trained the public to hate to learn. They believe ignorance is bliss as far as i can see and become hostile when someone tries to help them. Some homeless tramps are like that. They don't want help from those who are better off and can find them a place to live. They are happy being down and out. |
