I wouldn't put it past BJ and his backers to have orchestrated this whole affair. Resign for your sins, then come back with slate clean type thing. The only variable they couldn't have factored in was the Queen's death during his sabbatical. I bet he was absolutely devastated that he wasn't at the helm for that. He had his speech prepared ready to go, and had to release it as a letter/ statement instead. I suppose that's one thing Truss will always have; she was the last PM to be asked by the Queen to form a government, and she was the first PM who tended her resignation to the King.

Her legacy lives on in the shape of a Trivial Pursuit question!

Just heard that Boris is in the Caribbean, but when he heard Truss had resigned, he was on the first plane back to London. Hopefully a private jet, just to piss the green lobby of a bit more. He could have saved money and shown respect for the environment by swimming. I hope his aircraft put as much muck in the air as all the hotair we had from those who wanted to get him gone. How would swimming protect the enviroment when boats would have to escort him all the way?

I actually think Bojo could win this and because first MP in British history to hold the position of Prime Minister twice!
It's said he's expected to get the 100 votes by MPs come Monday. Then he is HUGE favourite with the Tory membership, who never wanted him gone in the first place.

But I agree if Boris pulls this off it will be the most spectacular political comeback in British political history.

If Boris wins then surely it will be General Election time.
Can you imagine how exhausting it has been to be a Tory MP during the last couple of years? There must be 40 Tories that will think fuck it I've had enough of politics and will side with the opposition in a vote of no confidence.

Like him or loathe him Boris has a mandate to be prime minister until Jan 2025.

The Tory membership does not make the final judgement and the Tory membership can hardly be held up as an example after what has happened over the past few weeks. Face it the three main parties are all crap.
