Sharia marriages aren't recognised in UK law. Look it up.
Bigamy is still illegal for everyone.
Walter, the law under the Matrimonial Causes Act 1973 says:
"It is illegal for anyone in England and Wales to enter into a polygamous marriage; that is a marriage that would mean they had more than one wife"
However, in Feb 2008 the Labour government said:
"Husbands who bring more than one wife into Britain can claim extra benefits for them at taxpayers' expense"
Labour Ministers ruled that [Muslim] men in polygamous marriages could receive state handouts for each wife, including additional income support, even though bigamy is illegal in the UK.
In other words, British bigamy law in this non Islamic country applies to everyone, except Muslims.
