You have to laugh at the posters who believe we need to have more renewable energy production and transition over to electric cars to save the planet, but who are then outraged at thought we might stop flying in Asparagus 4000 miles from Kenya.

They all appear to be fanatical EUphiles, too. It's like they will support anything to undermine the UK, no matter how much it contradicts the other things they support, because they want to screw the country so it's dragged into the EU. It happens everywhere - hyperactive bot-like automatons.

Tomatoes are a summer crop and it's winter.
You're right, if people are serious about climate change then their eating habits will have to change. We're discussing tomatoes flown in from Morocco, which isn't in the EU anyway. Absurdity is the mark of the remoaners.
Eat winter veg and meat. And start planting salad veg to grow your own for the summer.

Due to the high cost of (Renewable) energy Dutch tomato growers who supply many supermarkets in Europe are currently growing just 10% of what they were growing this time last year because they cant afford to switch greenhouse heaters on. [Discussion with National Farmers Union rep on Times Radio last night] F off. Energy is pricey because of Putin's war and gas prices, I have told you this several times and you are now officially stupid. Indeed, I agree relying so much on Putin's gas was a huge mistake. But why do you suppose Europe and to a lesser extent the UK were so heavily reliant on Russian gas? Do you honestly think replacing thousands of reliable coal fired power stations with thousands of unreliable wind turbines had nothing to do with it? ZG, clearly and for whatever reason your mind is made up, all I can say is, there are those who cant see, and there are those who refuse to see. Sadly, you firmly fall into the latter group.

The problems are that after some bad weather, the price of salads this time of years has gone up, plus the costs to heat greenhouses and transport them. The large supermarkets won't pay the price the growers need to stay in business so they don't stock the produce. So they wait for the season to change. If they asked for a realistic price the gutter press would be all over it and the publicity would damage the supermarkets. So they just sidestep the problem. So nothing to do with Brexit, they just don't want to pay for them.

How about trying out a new cave home?

Farm shops and green grocers are well stocked. Our farm shops down here are bulging under the strain of the produce they hold....And it tastes like real food and not cosmetically enhanced shite...

Honestly, you really do talk some shite.
