Mrs R and I have just got back from our weekly grocery shop. If anyone is desperate for tomatoes Sainsburys Stafford have plenty. Morrisons here has a whole 20 foot set of shelves for different types of tomato and pepper but there is not a single item on it.It has been like that for weeks, and no explanation either.

Apparently its due to adverse weather conditions in Southern Europe and Morocco. So not Brexit....... Climate change ๐Though Germany says they have no shortages, so errrmmmm.... Brexit? Due to the high cost of (Renewable) energy Dutch tomato growers who supply many supermarkets in Europe are currently growing just 10% of what they were growing this time last year because they cant afford to switch greenhouse heaters on. [Discussion with National Farmers Union rep on Times Radio last night] F off. Energy is pricey because of Putin's war and gas prices, I have told you this several times and you are now officially stupid.

๐ ๐คฃBrussels sprouts need a frost or two before they're ripe for eating and I never ate wrinkly apples, people grew them and shared them but that was in times you weren't around.

Brussel sprouts are disgusting bitter hard little vegetables that people tried to convince us were nice when there was nothing else. I remember my Nan storing apples and us eating them in January all wrinkly. That was in the late 1800's ๐

๐ ๐คฃIf you want to save the planet then stopping your tomatoes travelling anything up to 2000 miles would be a good starting point. Sprouts are a champion vegetable with lots of goodness for your vitamins etc and lots of help to your digestion. Not so good on the personal popularity front though.
