The supreme court has no jurisdiction over scotland. The highest court in scotland is the court of session in Edinburgh .If foreign courts and organisations have the right to have a say over scotland , then of course we must take this to european and world organisation the uk is bound by , as we did when scots took the constant denial by westmisnter regarding "home rule" to the council of europe who ruled in scotland favour which prompted major , then blair to deal with the issue in the mid nineties onwards .
Hoolyrood has the right to do whatever it can get away with. And if it decided that it wanted to hold indyref2 there is not much anyone else can do about it. But it looks as though little Nicky has read the runes and realised that come the referendum, the Nats will get their dials wiped. So she has jumped ship.
The Nats will now proclaim that everything is the fault of Westminster, the Labour party and everyone else, but the bottom line is that they have done a shit job of selling independence to the Scottish electorate.
Borkie please dont talk cac.
Under Sturgeons leadership and the tiny impenetrable cabal who currently run the governing party , its not that the snp have done a shit job of selling indy to the scottish electorate , its the fact despite repeated mandates from the scottish electorate they have done fuck all about it.
No one knows the real reason sturgeon decided to jump ship as you put it. She simply didnt have the guts to face off westmisnter in an inevitable confrontation to either hold another indyref , or something else such as an election standing on a UDI mandate.
So here we are.
The yes movements problem is that we are now politicaly rudderless. The brit nats problem is half the scottish electorate want out the uk. So lets wait and see what happens.
As alec salmond said yesterday , labour and tory told us all in 2014 that was it all over when he resigned , and within less than a year they had lost all their seats in scotland.
The pendulum swings either way mate. Sturgeon is gone for better or worse , while you have the limp wristed sunak and starmer in wating , the uk economy is extremely weak , problems mounting daily , with the tories looking like toast and BRINO on the horizon for brexiters.
The uk bin fire rages on....

Strange post from someone who has stated over many years he doesnt care about scotland , wishes at times scotland would leave , now is openly admitting he is irritated by thoughts of scottish indy and demanding we listen to some english court saying no?
Well scotland is one of the oldest countries in europe , with secure borders that have been intact for 800 years.
Interesting that the shetland is british argument ( in terms of partitioninng scotland as punishemnt of we leave the yookay) had died a death when the brit nats realise
1. sheltand has no oil gas.
2. Shetland has just recently voted to not support king charles coronation in terms of haveing a bank holiday.
Democracy is a neverendum black.
Now stop your anti democratic arguments , and be a good christian. Set my people free!
Learn to understand English. I posted "Thread title is a lie, which causes mild irritation." That does not equate to being irritated by thoughts of Scottish Indy. Dishonest argument. Have an emoticon to make it light hearted. Oh, and you need to read what the UN actually say about self determination, then you might understand that as well. Touched a raw nerve
You being irritated by the thread title
Is extremely contradictory to your alleged stance of "not caring about scotland" etc etc .
If you wished rid of scotland as you have claimed surely the opposite would be true?
We see last night from the ebc question time in rugby , a major political programme in England on English tv screens where an english audience is obsessing about the resignation of their neighbouring countires first minister.
What other country in western europe obsesses about scotland the way England and many of its inhabitants does?
I have . What part do you disagree with? All nations have the right to self determination.
Even tory prime ministers such as Thatcher and Cameron of course famously acknowledged scotland right to self determination. Thatcher by a majority snp politicians taking scottish westminster seats , Cameron by referendum.
The fact the current extreme right tory cabal at westmisnter is too chickenshit to acknowledge that right and democracy shows of course how terrified they are of losing scotland and the impact the brexit vote has had on the disunity of the yookay

Scotland already exercised its self determination and voted to stay with the union. Fucks sake accept the vote and start fixing the roads and hospitals instead of obsessing on something Scotland DOES NOT WANT.

No raw nerves here over the Scottish issue. Did I say I want rid of Scotland? I don't think so, in fact stability is a good thing. The UN says this about self determination: www.e-ir.info/2020/05/29/the-united-nations-self-determination-state-failure-and-secession
Integrity of states is VITAL. Even if Scotland went for secession, it would need a majority in favour, something which has never been demonstrated in a referendum.

The SNP are like Hitler in the bunker staring defeat in the face and still flailing away hoping for impossible escape from inevitable defeat.
It's funny to watch their implosion.
