He doesn't work for Fords. But I thought you were a capitalist? Do you now believe we should stop progress to keep jobs, A true luddite. Well I count progress as having jobs in Britain - not exporting them to China.. But then I'm old fashioned like that.. I count progress as things getting better rather than the government forcing them to be worse

Hope they are ready for the collapse of some car companies and possibly damage to their economies if most cannot travel as freely and easily l as they do now unless they produce EVs with a similar price to petrol and diesel ones. Its easy to ban them but whats the affordable alternative!!!!..........When we're all in EVs with tracking and remote access. They'll lock it down when they feel like it. Controlling where, when and who you visit. Another nail. Watch for the 15 minute city, hunger games style. EUSSR lawmakers approve ban on sale of new petrol, diesel AND hybrid cars from 2035 European Parliament has formally approved law to ban combustion cars by 2035 Increasingly strict intermediate CO2 emissions targets have also been agreed Only car brands producing fewer than 1,000 cars annually will be exempt www.dailymail.co.uk/money/cars/article-11753457/EU-lawmakers-approve-ban-sale-new-petrol-diesel-hybrid-cars-2035.html

The European car market is like dead men walking. China is just too far ahead in EV to catch up. By the way, for anyone interested here are five of the the most promising new battery technologies and how they are doing. www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1TBAWlbXKI&t=3sIt's an educational video by the way. It won't bite you.

Not what do they already do. Ford is cutting back on its range of ICE cars, not moving manufacture to China as you claim.

They have already taken over - Ford moved out of the UK years ago thanks to the EU and now they are leaving the EU to go to China.

Ford is screwed in every division except its pickup trucks, so it is focusing on that. These trucks are your typical American gas guzzler type. Meanwhile BYD have an electric pick up truck just launched. It's got 100kWh of batteries in it, so quite powerful and cheaper than Ford as well.

The EU made the costs of production too high - hence car manufacturers (and other parts of the manufacturing economy) are moving business out.

They clung to hard to the idea that Americans are wedded to gas.
