As I was saying on another thread, the Africans strongly support the Chinese in their country. Africans have to walk for miles each day to collect water, but now they have Chinese water pipes. Why not raise it with one of their unions if you really think it is so bad what they do? So why are there continual TV begging adverts to help Africans with water supplies. As others have remarked, "You do talk some shite". You are shite.

There are 54 countries in Africa
That's better. A while back you asserted the Africa was a single entity.

The single entity is the BRI. Clarify that ? Well think it through. The BRI makes travel time manageable between one part of Africa and another. They can get to meet their cousins. But it runs far deeper than that. Africa has been one of the least developed countries and suffered terrible things. Now they have the internet so the buzz is that they want to do this technology thing. They see it as their future and they see the Chinese are nice guys willing to help, and rather benevolent towards the poor. In short they have faith in the Chinese and I believe this will last for as long as the Chinese keep their promises, which I believe they will based on track record. And one more thing, they did not stop building Rome because someone pissed in a river and it got into a newspaper and sullied their reputation. Africans have bigger matters on their minds.

OK. I've been reading up on the Belt and Road and the conclusion it that whilst its got its dark side overall its doing a good job. The loans are at low interest rates, the Chinese are willing to give payment holidays to reflect world events.
Their hands off attitude towards how loans are used led the West to be concerned about corruption, war funding etc. But these concerns have mostly just not happened.

I'm not so sure that Barundian Africans are going to frequent Cape Town very often.

A few years ago an NGO I know introduced mobile phones into remote villages in some African countries(Just one per village) and set up a system where these could leapfrog each other to communicate across regions. The result was that those buying crops and cattle lost the ability to lie about the going rate. This quickly spread to fishing communities who used it to find which towns were short of which fish.
The introduction of the internet and the road network that the Chinese are funding will help in this same way. So no, it wont be cousins meeting up but more that remote communities will be able to get their goods to market at a better rate, sharing wealth better and generating growth.

Excuse my ignorance but who or what is the BRI ?
