I really don't know. Why not go over there and knock on some doors and ask the locals? Surely you don't think it was the Chinese themselves !!!!! Then who? The Yangtze only flows through China - does some foreign power airdrop a load of trash into it at night?

Who puts that trash in the river? I really don't know. Why not go over there and knock on some doors and ask the locals? There didn't seem to be much of it either. Another clickbait story.

Africans have to walk for miles each day to collect water, but now they have Chinese water pipes. Why not raise it with one of their unions if you really think it is so bad what they do?

That's not quite true Baron. The Belt and road initiative has stalled as more and more countries become aware of how China operates.

It's doing better than HS2. Lol. It's the thing that makes a complainer in the UK. They just can't bring themselves to ever admit that anyone but themselves could actually achieve anything good and successful. The BRI is a roaring success, but the turds will only find fault with it, even if all the facts say it is good, they will resort to what "some people say"/"unnamed official spokesman said...".

Err no. Here's one of many reasons why countries are now shying away from Chinas offers of 'help' It was in Sri Lanka that the deficiencies of China’s international development activities were first revealed globally. China partnered with Sri Lanka’s former president, Mahinda Rajapaksa, who now faces allegations of financial irregularities, to build a series of infrastructure mega-projects in Hambantota, a vastly undeveloped region on the island nation’s southern coast. To start, the plan called for a new deep sea port, an airport, a stadium, a giant conference center and many miles of new roadways. These projects were mostly funded with loans from China, which a few years later Sri Lanka struggled to pay back, as the country sunk into a debt trap of its own making. China eventually seized a 70% share of the deep sea port at Hambantota for 99 years for $1.12 billion. While this at first appeared to be a debt-for-equity swap, news later came out that Sri Lanka actually used the money to beef up its foreign reserves and make some other foreign debt repayments to save itself from economic collapse.

With the BRI in 147 countries I think now, you are sure to find some with financial trouble. By the way, the BRI loans are the lowest interest rates in the industry. Many countries are now suffering under the US Iinflation Reduction Act. Sri Lanka is one of the vulnerable ones.

Your ignorance is appalling on this subject. I have been a number of African countries as I have already posted. Not once did I to have to walk miles to collect water. Not even in the Sahara desert. We had acquirers. Yes, there are some very poor countries there but that's relatively small number. Mods, I apologise for this but we ought to correct the facts.

So why are there continual TV begging adverts to help Africans with water supplies. As others have remarked, "You do talk some shite".
