The Strikes are an attempt to bring the Government down and force an early election, that is why some Marxist Union Leaders are calling for coordinated strikes to bring more pressure on the Government Union leaders will only be calling for strikes until their first member or a relative dies because an ambulance didn't arrive for four hours. Then they'll blame the government anyway but it will shake them up a bit. Nothing works as well as reminding people of their own mortality.

The workers going on their strikes and their leaders have given as their stated aims a decent pay rise for once and the protection of their services. You making shit up just because it is what you want to believe is just plain stupid.

According to the Media there are a group of far left Doctors that are demanding a 30% pay rise , if not they will come out on strike they know full well the taxpayers cannot afford 19% for NHS Nurses let alone 30% they are trying to ratchet up the strikes

Selling some of our gold off "cheap" and using some of the income to reduce the national debt thereby enjoying a continuation of the lowered interest paid on that debt, is not as bad as "selling off the family silver" and privatising our North sea Oil and Gas. Try getting it right for a change. The Tories chose austerity because of the international financial meltdown NOT BECAUSE OF NL POLICIES. And growth alongside austerity was an option. There is nothing about those facts that are too difficult to understand. Brown never sold off our gold on the cheap to reduce the national debt you clown. He sold it off to try and balance the books before the full scale of Labours incompetence was uncovered.
"Gordon Brown’s decision to sell of half of Britain’s gold reserves 20 years ago at the bottom of the market has been billed as the worst financial decision of all time".
I didn't say he did. I posted he used SOME of the money for that purpose, you also got the rest wrong. None of the money went into balancing the books. Some went into buying three different currencies, I recall Dollars, Yen and one other. All of these went into the reserves where the currencies earned interest, and the gold did not. That was at a time when currency was king. Norway produce a similar amount of oil as UK but because they kept their oil for the benefit if the people their billions of profits are 4 times greater than what we get from the North sea oil.

Privitaze the NHS, let them all sign new contracts, and I can guarantee you they wont get those sort of pay rises, the share holders will make sure of that.
They need to be taught a lesson, TAX PAYERS MONEY IS NOT FREE MONEY.
I'm getting to the stage that I'd rather be ripped off by privatization companies like the energy companies, at least they make no bones about being in it for the 'money'.
It sticks in my throat that so called NHS life saving services would bring money before saving lives, they are worse than these money grabbing grubby privitized utility companies, at least they admit they are only in it for the money.

I'd meet both demands if I could get the treatment I have earned by paying in thousands in NH contributions and tax; I'm still paying tax on pensions.

Just a total disgrace; a Soviet-era system. There are literally NHS adverts still up right now (in the midst of nursing strikes) for 'Head of Sustainability' on 150k salaries which would cover multiple nursing roles. The sooner someone goes in and sorts this absolute farce - the better. The spare cash should ALL go to front line services. Cut all these jobs; make any new arrivals into the U.K. (currently 500k people net PER YEAR) take out health insurance until they've paid sufficient taxes.......They were advertising for some obscure role to help with 'bridge building in hard to reach communities'. That pay for that role was 150,000 a year. The advert was so full of buzz words it was really hard to decipher unless you were the type of useless idiot who would be applying. Hospital is accused of risking patients' health by asking their FAMILIES to help on wards during strikes Nurses at 55 NHS trusts in England are walking out today and tomorrow over pay One NHS Trust was yesterday offering nurses £40 an hour to cover for strikes The Royal College of Nursing has announced strikes next month over 73 trusts www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11646423/Hospital-accused-risking-patients-health-asking-FAMILIES-help-wards.html

Here another example of these work shy pig ignorant lefty free loaders.......This is now the face of what was Great Britain. National Hell Service: Wife dies 'after 16-HOUR ambulance wait' and cardiac arrest survivor says he wished he'd got a TAXI instead – as 999 crews threaten to leave patients in A&E after 45mins in blitz on sluggish response times Husband has told of 'anger' that his wife died 'after 16-hour wait for ambulance' Father has urged Brits to 'get a taxi' to hospital rather than relying on ambulance It comes amid record A&E pressures, with reports of 26-hour waits for 999 crews www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-11594743/National-Hell-Service-Wife-dies-16-HOUR-ambulance-wait.htmlTo be honest, everyone is just better off dialing for a taxi as opposed to 999. Next year, the selfish ambulance drivers will just be on strike again.

The last time it happened, from the time I phoned to the time a neurotic paramedic rolled up was over 4 hours. I was in A & E for six hours before being moved to a ward. I had been discharged after major surgery and the top row of stitches in an 8 inch long incision gave way.

My mother slid down off her chair, about 2 years sgo, I rang 999 because she complained of a sore neck. After 2 hours, they rang back and asked if I didn't mind taking her the 8 miles to hospital in the car. So I had no choice, the doctor was very concerned and got her in for a x-ray straight away. She had broke her neck. I'm all for scrapping the ambulance service.
