Another example of why GPs (who cant be expected to know everything) should always refer cases where they are unsure to the appropriate specialist. I wish this brave man and his beautiful family the very best. Many of these so called GP's have to consult pharmacists in some case as they are far more qualified than many of lefty lazy arersed GP's
Soldier, 45, lost HALF of his penis after bungling doctors misdiagnosed his cancer three times... and now he's been told he may only have a year left to live Gavin Brooks, 45, says he has been left with a 'Frankenweiner' after the blunder Doctors misdiagnosed him three times before penile cancer was found He had surgery to treat it but has now been told he may only have a year to live He said if he was diagnosed earlier, he may have only needed a circumcision

Once is bad enough but three times FFS
How the fuck did they qualify to become doctors.
Most people now rely on Google self diagnosis, and it's turning out to be life saving.
So in other words we have to Google our own symptoms, then tell the Doctor what we are suffering from.
FFS and we are paying GPs upwards of £120,000 a year (when you can get to see one), we then have to save them the trouble of actually examining us for a diagnosis, we have to do that ourselves and tell them. FFS when is this madness going to end.

If the poor sod has lost half his dick then there is no point living much longer.
And GPs have always relied upon pharmacists to advise on the correct drugs. Half a century ago I worked in a hospital pharmacy and one of my small pleasures was to listen in as the Chief Pharmacist asked the doctors why, since their patients were coming in alive, they were prescribing drugs that would prevent them leaving the same way.

Funny how these not fit for GP's never make these mistakes when they are working for the private health companies earning more than the average person could even dream of tho, isn't it?

Here another example of these work shy pig ignorant lefty free loaders.......This is now the face of what was Great Britain. National Hell Service: Wife dies 'after 16-HOUR ambulance wait' and cardiac arrest survivor says he wished he'd got a TAXI instead – as 999 crews threaten to leave patients in A&E after 45mins in blitz on sluggish response times Husband has told of 'anger' that his wife died 'after 16-hour wait for ambulance' Father has urged Brits to 'get a taxi' to hospital rather than relying on ambulance It comes amid record A&E pressures, with reports of 26-hour waits for 999 crews www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-11594743/National-Hell-Service-Wife-dies-16-HOUR-ambulance-wait.html

NHS patients have become a inconvenience to GPs, they just want telephone consultations, no face-to-face, how the fuck can you examine a patient on the phone.
A GP surgery was trashed by a frustrated patient, and the GP was whining and whinging expecting everyone to feel sorry for them, they must have been gobsmacked with the response from the public, many feeling sorry for the frustrated patient and saying this is what happens when the public get fed up with arrogant GPs and their snotty receptionists.

I suspect that a lot of the A&E patients have been let down by their GPs.

GPs got lazy during Covid. I was subject to ongoing treatment during Covid and had a routine, monitoring appointment at my GP's. I witnessed three GPs come in, obviously just after a good (and quite possibly alcoholic) lunch, joking and laughing and I was the only patient in the waiting room.
They looked to be having a high old time. Especially GP "Fat Boy" who previously confused me with a completely different patient, and accused me of taking "Too many" prescription drugs (which I wasn't even on) and which, in any case, he'd have been the one to prescribe.
And now they're "Short staffed".
Nope, they're lazy. And overpaid.

I last saw a GP for a consultation in February 2020 in Kingswinford. Shortly after that the NHS closed their doors to patients. They also switched off the appointment system using a phone app, so the only way to contact them was on the phone. I moved to Kent later that year and registered with a GP practice. They also did not allow appointments using an app. So I avoided them like the plague. Stopped taking any blood pressure tablets and I've never felt better. Funnily enough, I did see a doctor at Tonbridge Baptist Church which the NHS had commandeered to give anti-Covid Astra Zeneca jabs. The doctors were out in force as they were being paid around £20 a jab to sign up the prescriptions. I've since moved again and it is still impossible to make an appointment. They don't answer the phone so I don't ring them.
I've lost all confidence in the NHS, so we will use SWMBO's excellent knowledge, along with doctor Google and the local pharmacy and herbal treatments. If that or a stiff brandy can't cure it, we'll join the queue for the undertakers and the afterlife.

There have always been failure to correctly diagnose cases and they happen in all developed countries. If anyone thinks any health service can offer a 100.000% perfect diagnosis first time performance then they need to get real.
As for the horrendous ambulance delays some are seeing then every proper analysis says it's down to two root cause factors: underfunding of the care sector leading to bed blocking and privatisation of ambulance services without setting proper performance targets/penalty payments. Both down to the Tories.

That's gross medical negligence.
Stop defending the indefensible, three missed opportunities, your argument about 'underfunding' and 'bed blocking and privatisation' has nothing to do with the incompetence and misdiagnosis of a patient.

Mid Kent is certainly struggling with availability of GP appointments, one of my friends there died in no small part because of the 2 to 3 week waits to get seen. But all the serious analyses talk of GP burn out, GPs retiring because of same + absurd tax penalties if they work extra and of course the ever increasing patient case loadings per GP. We are reaping what this government haw sown. They didn't respond to the ever ageing population pretending that just preserving NHS spend in real terms would be enough. It wasn't and we don't have enough GPs (and other areas of NHS staff) And fundamentally these senior Tories do not care, but then I suspect they have their private GPs so they wouldn't.

I wasn't defending it I was putting it in context. And Penile cancer is rare whereas Lychen Planus and genital warts are not. The real cancer scandal is that patients are being doomed and dying right now because the 14 days to scan and 60 days to treatment requirements have effectively been thrown out of the window using the excuse of Covid. The fact is they weren't meeting them beforehand again because NHS funding was not matching the load. Well the taxes on the rich had to be kept low didn't they.
