Does anyone still think these doctors, nurses, ambulance drivers etc. are dedicated to their profession? Or are they just in it for the money? I do recall that Nurses had the value of their wage decreased year after year during the austerity years. Didn't we all?

In todays paper we have some idiot Tory MP suggesting that we should have a medal for NHS employees - how about a medal for their long suffering customers? A medal for NHS employees? Is that supposed to be instead of a decent pay rise? They'll treat that with utter contempt and rightly so. Just fucking patronising and insulting.

Exactly all of us were no matter what occupation you are in add to that inflation that also has a detrimental effect on everyone , when it come to Private Sector workers it is the Taxpayers who pay their wages , the wages bill just for those for those who work within the NHS and over one million do is over £56 Billion a year, plus all the running costs on top, add to that the other emergency workers , the Civil Servants Local Government etc etc. High wage demands now will mean it will take longer to get inflation down, its like trying to put a fire out by throwing petrol on it,

Labour just chucks tax payers money at everything that wins them votes.
To them tax payers money is FREE money.
They end up bankrupting the country, then have to sell off our gold on the cheap.
The Tories have to step in with years of austerity.
That's why they have been out of power for 13 years.
They have to learn that tax payers money is not their FREE money to buy voters.

Selling some of our gold off "cheap" and using some of the income to reduce the national debt thereby enjoying a continuation of the lowered interest paid on that debt, is not as bad as "selling off the family silver" and privatising our North sea Oil and Gas. Try getting it right for a change. The Tories chose austerity because of the international financial meltdown NOT BECAUSE OF NL POLICIES. And growth alongside austerity was an option. There is nothing about those facts that are too difficult to understand.

He sold it off to try and balance the books before the full scale of Labours incompetence was uncovered.
"Gordon Brown’s decision to sell of half of Britain’s gold reserves 20 years ago at the bottom of the market has been billed as the worst financial decision of all time".

Yes completely blinkered and not thinking ahead and the usual mantra of the rich need to be taxed more, they already pay more and get the same services as everyone else, there is a limit to what anyone is willing to pay or can pay

I do recall that Nurses had the value of their wage decreased year after year during the austerity years. Didn't we all? No. Not all. A lot of people have done very well indeed over the last decade, whilst many of us have suffered. The government have contributed to this with their "austerity". Truth is that many people are now struggling and are getting angry. This is why the strikes are here. People have had enough.

The Strikes are an attempt to bring the Government down and force an early election, that is why some Marxist Union Leaders are calling for coordinated strikes to bring more pressure on the Government

Those who don't know how it goes down will blame the Tories.
It's no secret that teachers, nurses, doctors, railway workers, and so on, swing to the left.
They have no idea when the Unions tell them they want inflation busting pay rises that if they do get them they will be no better off because it will push inflation up even further, so that rise will be cancelled out, so they'll be back to where they were. They rely on the fact they wont be able to work that out for themselves.
The only ones suffering will be the ones who aren't getting inflation busting pay rises, that the Civil Service, and public sector workers are demanding.
