They'd rather take the money and send them to a pharmacist.......Gp's sold their souls and patients for 30 pieces of silver and not even part time work. Covid was just the excuse they needed to finally do F A A THIRD of Brits are unable to get a GP appointment when they need one, poll reveals EXCLUSIVE: 34% of Brits said they could not get an appointment with their GP Roughly one in eight people are still stuck on the waiting list for routine care

Those GP contracts need cancelling, they've got to be changed, GPs being able to regulate their own working hours knowing they are guaranteed minimum of £85,000, and there is fuck all the government can do about it, thanks to dickhead Blair/Labour.
It's their fault hospitals are at breaking point because those who can't get to see those lazy arse bastards are having to call ambulances or clog up A&E, it's about time hospitals start sending bills to GP surgeries if they find a patient was unable to get a GP appointment, these arseholes need to start being accountable for over stretching hospitals.

The GP contract has turned into a disaster - if it cannot be renegotiated then I'm coming round to the idea of making all GP's employees of the NHS and forget this self employed nonsense.
I dont really see how they get away with it anyway, HMRC are very keen on clamping down on 'self-employed' workers in other industries who only work for a single customer.

There doesn’t seem to be much enthusiasm in the media to correlate the rising numbers going to A&E and fewer people getting GP appointments.

These are the wankers mate that if you do even get past attila the hun acting as receptionist to see a bloody GP you still have to wear a fucking mask and obey social distancing. They should sack the bloody lot of the idle bastards and stop their index linked pensions and take them back on with zero hour contracts.

GP receptionists used to wear a twin set and pearls and be polite to the patients (customers) who pay their wages. In my surgery there are four of them lounging about drinking tea, they look like bags of shite, covered in tattoos and piercings and are completely rude and indifferent to those who mildly ask if it is possible to see their doctor. The NHS needs a good rake out, starting with that lot, and the GPs need to be sacked and rehired on a deal that only pays for each patient seen, then they will suddenly be keen enough to do a 5 day week.

To be fair to receptionists when 75% of GP's are part time and many of them are skiving from home what are they supposed to do?...

I hope they don't start taking lessons in politeness from you. Otherwise they'll be calling their patients assholes and telling them to fuck off, especially if they disagree about something. You are to politeness what a baboon's arse is to a beauty contest, lol

You are to politeness what a baboon's arse is to a beauty contest, lol I can be polite if required, I have been known to say please in front of some of my statements. Like the last Labour canvasser who came to our house when it was raining.I said to him for gods sake don't stand out there in the pissing rain......Fuck off, so what was wrong about that? I was only thinking of his welfare.

In todays paper we have some idiot Tory MP suggesting that we should have a medal for NHS employees - how about a medal for their long suffering customers?

In addition, MPs are able to claim allowances to cover the costs of running an office and employing staff, and maintaining a constituency residence or a residence in London. IMO GPs are in the main more responsible, higher trained and better educated than most MPs (it takes anything from 3 to 8 years, depending on specialties to train GPs) , they are well worth more than an MP. The days when your GP was available 24 hrs. a day are well gone. These days they expect to have time off, and rightly so.

I do recall that Nurses had the value of their wage decreased year after year during the austerity years.
