Apologies, but what you post makes me believe even more firmly that suspecting political interference in the choice advertisers and programme makers have in casting seems paranoid. This country is 80% White — mostly the same White stock that put a quarter of the world’s population under the cosh and often relegated other peoples to second class citizens in their own countries. Do you actually believed that same White stock is actively diminishing the worth of their own? If so, let’s have a bit — bring it on… Which kind of confirms my last comment. You are assuming 'white stock' is some type of continuous and amorphous entity only defined by its whiteness but it is separated along many lines with people in the group seeking advantage and by others seeking advantage. Currently the white guilt is winning and being callously used by many of all races to reconfigure the demographics of the British Isles. We accepted this in the name of tolerance, understanding and fairness but we can see that extending this out was a forlorn hope and realistically it will end in tears one way or another. Isn’t this White Stock what the KBWers and their cohorts seeking to preserve? Travelling around the old Empire, one soon notices the English, Irish, Scottish and Welsh family names firmly implanted/impregnated on lands, organisations and people to show where they’ve been. It’s a rich history worth remembering — my mother’s family name is Welsh, my father’s Scottish. DNA testing might show if they deserve either, but the names indicate ownership somewhere in the past… |

And I’m also not aware that any of predominately Black Country has complained that too many appearances by White personalities on their TV has warped their modern country… I’m not aware that there was an accusation of the UK being warped . iirc there was concern that minority ethnic groups were being underrepresented. |

Empires have come and gone over Millenia just as the Mongols reached the Gates of Vienna and names not local can be found all over the world. If we take naming as a sign of invasion, and you seem to, then Banglatown is a problem, Emirates stadium and many other football stadia. Most names in English denote a trade or ownership. Those that end in an s indicate ownership or employment by someone else. My own name does it does not come with a large chip on the shoulder though |

It is not the natural outcome of the argument at all. I am at a loss as to how you arrive at that conclusion. Saying we should not have propaganda in any direction is not a case for controlling or limiting any type of marriage. It is a case not to direct/nudge/coerce, call it what you like, people into any one direction. Covid has taught us one thing that government looks very carefully how to nudge the populace into the direction it wishes them to follow and it is all low level stuff. You are obviously fully nudged. and look for anything to hold onto to believe you have not been Under represented and over representation only matter if you think that exact replication of numbers matters, hence the only way to achieve that would be quotas. Not only does it not bother me enough that I count them, but tbf it is not unrepresentative of my world. Out of my team of 8, one is in a mixed race marriage and 2 more are products of mixed race marriages. You have yet to explain why they are a bad thing and why they should not be portrayed as such? How about inherited diseases? |

Quotas I might add that are routinely exceeded. |

Why is it when anyone questions the government policies and laws that actively and indisputably work to the disadvantage of an ethnic group then this becomes preserving the white stock with those seeing the point becoming cohorts. |

EDIT I suppose at least the Keep Britain White brigade were starting off from the status quo whereas the Make Britain Mixed Race were starting off from nothing not even a particular public policy presented to the public for their consideration in a normal democratic way. |

BBC Radio 4 has gone completely demented in peak listening hours. You really would crack up if you heard what I just heard on two separate occasions today around 6 - 8pm. If you then understood one such demented brain-damaged production was from UCL who won a prestigious award for it you'd think the country had gone bloody mad. It's painful to experience, like your mother contracting dementia or some awful thing, the country you love has collapsed. The Age of Enlightenment was all for nothing!
